Before we got the laptop I would have said I prefer photos so I could print them and bring them to the kitchen with me. Now that we have a laptop, I say bring on the videos!
Perhaps photos for more simple projects and videos for more complex techniques?

I’m one of the ones who asked for a yeast bread/roll tutorial. I think a video would be SUPER helpful!!!! Some things just can’t be conveyed by pictures. I like your idea of a combination, because the video camera might not be able to capture all angles.

I’m a new stay-at-home dad and I just found your website a little over a month ago. Baked oatmeal was the first thing I tried making & it came out great. Today my wife made the jalapeño cornbread for a chili cook-off.

I personally would love to see a how-to video of making bread with yeast as I cannot get down/understand yeast and how to work with it. I don’t know the difference between “Yeast” and “Active Dry Yeast” and the other types you can buy. When shopping I often get confused as to whether there’s really a difference and what I need to do with each of them to get them to work right. I’ve tried homemade bread several times and each time they’ve come out like a brick (literally).

Fondant would be another amazing thing to do a how-to video on. From what I understand you can really make some nice cakes with fondant and I’d love to try this.

video–yes, I especially like the idea of fondant as I’ve never worked with it and it seems like the “thing to do”. You should even make a homemade marshmallow fondant.
And not to double your work or anything, but I do also like the written step by step instructions on certain things.

I like the step-by-step instructions with pictures so I can print them out, although for some skills it would also be helpful to have video.

I would prefer a combination of video and step by step photos. The video would be great alone but I am the type who would like photos to use while I am creating the recipe myself. Thanks for providing great recipes and tutorials!

It’s funny, I like videos but find myself avoiding them when they’re in my feed – I think it’s because I tend to multi-task ridiculously, and playing video with sound is a bigger commitment than scrolling through a pictorial post. That said, a well-done video is always appreciated!

It will really depend on the type of recipe that you are considering doing. Some may be easier with photos while others may need a step by step video process. The more complex a recipe is the easier it will become if someone is showing you what exactly to do. Can’t wait to see more of your how to videos!

I actually prefer pictures unless its something that has to do with motion, like say kneading your dough. You can explain it all you want but seeing it makes a difference. I wanna watch the fondant video badly…lol. I’ve never even tried it, it totally freaks me out!

I like the idea of How-to videos. I would still like to see one still picture of the finished product and the recipe, that way when I am watching the video, I can still have the recipe in front of me. I also like to save the recipes I like on my desktop, so a finished product picture would be nice to have with my recipe.

I think how to videos are great! Step by step photos are awesome too. But just like the commenter sometimes you cant get everything with the pictures.

I’m usually a quiet reader, but I just wanted to say how much I’d love to see how-to videos!

Actually, it would be super to have a royal icing how-to video as well. The pictures were wonderful, but it would be great to see it all in live action. Still working up the courage to decorate with royal icing myself…

I love how to videos. Sometimes pictures don’t accurately reflect exactly how something should be done. A person can get confused with step-by-step pictures. Personally, I’m a visual person and have to see it.
