Giveaway: Sarris Candies

Sarris Candies and I go waaaaay back. The chocolate company is located in Canonasburg, PA, which is only about 20 miles south of Pittsburgh. As a result, when there were fundraisers in grade school, guess what we sold? Yep, Sarris Candies. On Easter morning, guess what type of chocolate filled my Easter basket? Sarris Candies! Those are just two examples; different varieties of their chocolate and candies are sold at tons of local grocery stores and every so often I’ll treat myself to a package of chocolate-covered pretzel rods. However, my all-time favorite are the peanut butter meltaways (big surprise, right?!). I’m dangerous if I’m left alone with a box to myself. Truth is, Sarris makes so many wonderful things that it would take me all day to ramble on about them. The chocolate is smooth, creamy and completely melts in your mouth. I basically grew up on these chocolates and candies, and it’s still my favorite today. And I want to share some of it with you!
This year I decided that I wasn’t going to do large-scale holiday giveaways. Instead, I wanted to focus on a couple of local Pittsburgh-area companies that I love and share some of their products with you. Check back tomorrow for the second giveaway, but for now, let’s talk CHOCOLATE!
I am giving away the gift package you see pictured below, which is Sarris’ Tier Red collection. In it you will receive a package of chocolate-covered pretzels (the best in the land!), a box of peanut butter meltaways (because I think everyone needs to experience these wonders), and a box of their deluxe assortment (so you can try a little bit of everything). I want to share a little bit of Pittsburgh and one of my most favorite holiday treats with you!

We also had a local candy maker where I grew up – they made these white chocolate wafer mints that I still obsess over. Be bought 2,000 of them for my wedding a couple of years ago and my sister had them shipped 1,000 miles for her wedding last year. Seriously good.
But I’d love to try those meltaways!

What a great way to promote your city! When I was growing up in Chicago, we had Fannie Mae’s, which is probably similar to Sarris? Anyway, they had these mint meltaways that were too tasty to even try and describe. These days, I don’t eat much “candy” but love dark chocolate when I do.

Grew up in the Uniontown area…Surely must be sold there. I just ate the chocolate that was given to me then as a child–not many chocolate conoisseurs back then.
