The Weekend Dish: 3/26/2011

As you read this, I’m somewhere along I-95 heading south towards the sunny Florida shoreline with my Chief Culinary Consultant. Ahh, vacation and a road trip! A pretty good way to kick off turning 31! I’ll be enjoying vacation for the next 10 days or so, so I have some guest posts lined up for next week that I think you’re really going to enjoy. Some of my favorite food blogging pals will be sharing some of their favorite (i.e. mouth-watering and decadent) recipes with you. I’m looking forward to introducing you to some other blogs, and more fabulous recipes!

Now as always, you’ll find a recap of what was posted to the site this week as well as some bookmarked recipes from other blogs. Enjoy! :)

On Brown Eyed Baker This Week

Waldorf Salad – Apples, grapes, celery and walnuts make a perfect salad for springtime brunches and lunch.

Oreo Cheesecake Cookies – Oreo cheesecake is one of my favorite things ever. These cookies were made for me!

Fruit & Almond Granola – My absolute favorite version of homemade granola – totally addicting. Plus, win a cookbook – you have until I get back from vacation to enter!

Salted Peanut Chews – Love the combo of cookie bar and Rice Krispy treat, with lots of peanuts and peanut butter flavor! PayDay candy bar, anyone?

Tiramisu Cupcakes – Ringing in my 31st birthday with these amazing cupcakes!

What I Bookmarked This Week

Recipes from other blogs that I thought looked especially delicious and that I thought you would like too:

Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheesecake Cake (Erin’s Food Files)
Oh.My.God. This is my heaven. Seriously. Reminds me of the cheesecake/cake I got at Junior’s in NYC last year!

Malted Chocolate Tart (FoodBabbles)
Looks totally decadent and now that I’m hooked on the malted flavor, it’s a must-try for me!

Pear Turnovers (Beloved Green)
Pears have become one of my favorite fruits, and I can’t ever pass up a buttery, flaky pastry.

Snickers Cupcakes (Sweet Pea’s Kitchen)
I need to make these immediately. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200. Immediately.

Tagalong Peanut Butter Parfaits (My Baking Addiction)
My favorite Girl Scout cookie! Layered with peanut butter mousse, fudge sauce and whipped cream? I want one NOW!

Have a delicious weekend!
