The Weekend Dish: 5/21/2011

This week it rained and stormed for seven straight days here. Blueprints for an ark were starting to take shape in my mind. Talk about gloomy weather! I was beginning to forget what the sun looked like and honestly couldn’t remember the last time I wore sunglasses while driving. Add to that trips to the doctor, the pharmacy, and a regime of antibiotics, drops and sprays, and it definitely hasn’t been the sunniest of weeks. Although while I have been convalescing, I have discovered Pinterest. What a great place for finding all sorts of inspiration! If you are on there, feel free to follow me (browneyedbaker).
Lastly, thinking about all of the food bloggers off at BlogHer Food and Eat, Write, Retreat this weekend. Hope everyone has a fabulous time and safe travels!
As always, you’ll find a recap of what was posted to the site this week as well as some bookmarked recipes from other blogs. Enjoy! ![]()

What I Bookmarked This Week
Recipes from other blogs that I thought looked especially delicious and that I thought you would like too:
Amaretto Cheesecake with Almond Crust and Amaretto-Caramel Sauce (La Mia Vita Dolce)
Amaretto? Cheesecake? Caramel? Count me in a million times over. Looks gorgeous!
Chocolate-Coffee Semifreddo with Salted Caramel Sauce (Delicious Shots)
What an absolutely decadent frozen dessert. Easy to make, but totally gourmet-caliber. Love!
Cookies and Cream Cupcakes (Taste and Tell)
I love Oreos. LOVE them. Not necessarily on their own, but in cheesecakes, cookies, crusts, you name it and I love them. So these cupcakes look right up my alley. Can’t wait to try them!
Rhubarb Pie (In Praise of Leftovers)
I love that this pie is rhubarb-only. I love strawberry-rhubarb pie but have been on the prowl for just a plain ol’ rhubarb pie recipe. So happy to have finally found one!
Strawberry Cream Cheese Crumble Tart (Nick Malgieri)
I am positively certain I could eat this for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Pastry dough, cream cheese, strawberries, crumb topping?! This is my heaven.
Have a delicious weekend!

I’m making the rhubarb pie when I get up tomorrow. I have yet to make something you’ve posted and not loved it! Your forcing me into elastic waist pants! (wink!)
