The Weekend Dish: 6/18/2011

Another weekend is here! How was your week? Eat anything fabulous? Do anything fun? I’ve been spending a good bit of time in the kitchen, and have been enjoying coming up with some different spins on recipes; I hope you’re enjoying them! A couple of nights ago we went to see Aziz Ansari do stand-up, which was hysterical. For any fans of Parks & Recreation and Tom Haverford, if you get the opportunity to see him live, do it! Awesome show. Now that hockey season is officially over, I’ve taken to relishing the fact that the infinitely-lowly Pittsburgh Pirates are over .500 and giving us something to cheer about. I haven’t been much into baseball since I was a kid, so it’s been fun to watch!

As always, you’ll find a recap of what was posted to the site this week as well as some bookmarked recipes from other blogs. Enjoy! :)

I’ve never really understood why you do the weekend dish when I’ve seen all of you posts throughout the week…but I understand today…I’ve had a crazy week and haven’t had much time to read blogs. The review was a fantastic time saver. :) Thanks

Wow, that is crazy! Is your husband from Pittsburgh, or another area of Pennsylvania?

He’s from right outside Pittsburgh….a place called Smithton. Ever heard of it?

I love the idea of a weekly roundup! What a great way to share your own posts and your favorites with everyone. Thank you so much for including my s’mores recipe :)

I’m going to go check out your strawberry pie now. I’m heading to the farmer’s market in a bit and I’m sure I’ll get some strawberries. If enough survive my snacking, I would love to make a pie entirely from scratch for the first time!
