The Weekend Dish: 9/24/2011

Hello from sunny Florida! I’m getting a short reprieve from the chilly fall weather in Pittsburgh while spending some time down in southern Florida. In place of hot chocolate and apple cider, I’m enjoying lunch on the beach and conch fritters. Before long, I’ll be back basking in the glow of the cool October sun and ready to start having my life revolve around Penguins games. Speaking of which, I’m getting my hockey fix down here by catching a preseason game between the Florida Panthers and Tampa Bay Lightning tonight. What do you have planned for this first official weekend of fall? Visiting any orchards? Doing any baking?

As always, you’ll find a recap of what was posted to the site this week as well as some bookmarked recipes from other blogs. Enjoy!

I can’t believe I was just making pancakes for my kids from your ridiculously awesome recipe (I totally agree, btw, that it’s the best pancake recipe I’ve tried) and now I am back on here with my recipe linked. Craziness. I really hope you make the cheez-its and let me know how they work out! Thanks for visiting…love what you do :)

Plan on it! Even though they beat us in the playoffs, I really enjoy watching them – great team. My boyfriend is a huge St. Louis fan.

The Sea Salt treat sounds really good. I love Godiva but they are so expensive. Once in awhile as a treat though, it is amazing. Thanks for a copycat of their treat.
