Welcome to Day 3 of “12 Days of Giveaways”, which includes a very special giveaway!
You all know how crazy I am about weighing ingredients – I believe it’s the only way to ensure consistent results when baking each and every time. I swear by it, and I definitely encourage everyone to invest in a kitchen scale; you can get a great model for less than $50 (like this OXO model, which has earned the “Highest Recommended” tag by Cook’s Illustrated). Perhaps you’ll be one of the lucky readers that will win this one!
I also partnered up with OXO to offer you one of these super cute “Good Cookie” spatulas and a copy of the Cookies for Kids Cancer: Best Bake Sale Cookbook, both of which are sold nationwide to support the charity “Cookies for Kids Cancer”. It was founded by two OXO employees, Gretchen and Larry Witt, who were inspired by their son Liam’s battle with pediatric cancer. Cookies for Kids’ Cancer was born to help raise funds to help fight pediatric cancer through the concept of local bake sales. OXO employees were inspired to help “bake a difference” by baking cookies and holding bake sales and through their efforts have helped raise over $150,000 to support Cookies for Kids’ Cancer.
This year, OXO will donate up to $100,000 to support research for new and improved therapies, which includes donating 50% of the profits from the Limited Edition “Be a Good Cookie” spatula. In addition, 100% of the proceeds from sales of the cookbook go directly to Cookies for Kids Cancer. If you happen to not be one of the giveaway winners (or even if you are and are still looking for gifts for others!), consider purchasing a spatula or a copy of the cookbook. If you’d like to learn more about the organization, find out where bake sales are being held, or how to organize one of your own, visit the OXO Good Cookies website.
Now on to the nitty gritty giveaway details!
