The Weekend Dish: 3/17/2012

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! What are you guys and gals doing to celebrate today? I’m still bopping around down here in Florida and don’t have any big plans for the day, although I do think we’re planning to cook up some authentic Irish fare for dinner later.

I hope you’ve had a great week. I have been enjoying the warm sun, conch fritters, fish tacos, and some tennis practice, although two suspicious things are happening: (1) It seems we have gotten rained on at least once every day we’ve been down here; and (2) the temperatures in Pittsburgh have only been a few degrees cooler than here in Florida. Both are totally unacceptable to me. Mother Nature: I request less rain here and cooler temperatures in Pittsburgh next week. Please and thank you!

As always, you’ll find a recap of what was posted to the site this week as well as some bookmarked recipes from other blogs. Enjoy!

What I Bookmarked This Week

Recipes from other blogs that I thought looked especially delicious and that I thought you would like too:

Banana Pudding Milkshake (A Spicy Perspective)
I don’t make near enough milkshakes, and this replication of banana pudding sounds scrumptious. Need it in my tummy!

Chocolate Mint Oreo Cookies (Two Peas and Their Pod)
Maria makes the best cookies, and these are no exception. I love the combination of mint and chocolate, and of course, throw Oreos into anything and it improves tremendously!

Lucky Charms Treats (Ezra Pound Cake)
So fun for St. Patrick’s Day! Love the adaptation of the classic Rice Krispie treats.

Samoa Macarons (Barbara Bakes)
I haven’t really gotten into the macaron craze, but these beauties look darn near irresistible!

White Chocolate Chip Bar Recipe with Brown Butter & Espresso (Cookin’ Canuck)
Every single element of this dessert bar looks to-die-for delicious. I can’t wait to bake them up!

Have a delicious weekend!

I love your recipes this week and the bookmarked recipes look yummy, especially those darn Lucky Charm treats! As a kid, Lucky Charms was the only cereal I would eat! I miss it! It’s been years, since I had a sweet little lucky charm marshmallow!!
