The Weekend Dish: 4/7/2012

Happy holiday weekend to all of you celebrating Easter and Passover! Do you have any special plans for the weekend? I will be taking in the Penguins game this afternoon, and then enjoying a great Easter dinner tomorrow. We do the traditional ham, lamb, potatoes, broccoli salad, and some other assorted sides. When we were kids my dad and uncles would hide Easter eggs around the yard for us. Most of them had quarters or candy inside, but one contained a $20 bill! We were definitely kids on a mission! Do you do any Easter egg hunts for little ones? Whatever your plans for the weekend, I hope that you enjoy it and get to enjoy some nice weather and even better company!

    I can’t believe how easy those peanut butter eggs were to make. So easy! Now I just need to get better at dipping them.

    Ahhhh What a fun weekend!! I miss my family. It’s just my Husband and 20 year old step-daughter. This year I actually am getting them to go to breakfast at a little bistro that I just love! Everything is homemade, organic and some healthy things to. Glad I had to convince them to spend at least a few hours together on Easter. Everyone always has other plans. To me the holidays are just a day off.

    I remember as a kid my parents used to take us to the town park and they would have an egg hunt. Inside the eggs used to be tickets, and you would take the tickets to the booth and you would get a chocolate bunny, but there were a few tickets were you could win a big basket full of chocolate. Commander Tom, a local newscaster had a show on Sunday mornings for kids and we all loved him and he would be there to meet the children. Those were the best times!
