The Weekend Dish 1/5/2013

Happy Saturday! I don’t know about you, but my days are all messed up. Having a holiday in the middle of the week totally throws me for a loop. Virtually every day for the last two weeks has felt like a Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Hopefully next week I’ll be able to get myself back into some semblance of a routine. Until then, I’ll consider this one final holiday-ish weekend to relax and get myself organized and ready for the month ahead. As you’ll see by my bookmarks below, I haven’t stopped looking at sweets, or eating them, for that matter!
As always, you’ll find a recap of what was posted to the site this week as well as some bookmarked recipes from other blogs. Enjoy!

What I Bookmarked This Week
Recipes and posts from other blogs that I thought looked especially delicious and that I thought you would like, too:
Bacon Wrapped Pretzel Rods with Brown Sugar and Cayenne Glaze (Creative Culinary)
Bacon-wrapped anything is phenomenal as far as I’m concerned; throw in a sweet and spicy glaze and I’m all-in!
Kit Kat Cheesecake Bars (Bakers Royale)
These bars are just stunning. Not only are they gorgeous, but I imagine they taste at least as good as they look!
Lasagna Soup (Closet Cooking)
I start craving soup big-time after the holidays, so I’m right on cue. I’ve seen many variations of lasagna soup, and this one looks absolutely spectacular.
Maple Bacon Biscuits (Confections of a Foodie Bride)
These biscuits are everything that is right with breakfast food. I’d love to have one in front of me right now.
Oreo Cheesecake Bars (Table for Two)
I seem to be craving cheesecake this week, right? Oreo cheesecake was one of my first cheesecake loves, so there is no doubt I’ll be making these bars immediately.
What was the best thing you ate this week??
Have a delicious weekend!

I’m with you, I am so messed up from the holidays! I thought yesterday was Wednesday, nice surprise when it was the weekend! But I have to say I’m kind of glad the holidays are over with. It’s time to get back to my routine and look forward to Spring. Have a great weekend!!

It does still feel like the holidays. That’s fine with me though, I like how fast winter seems to go when the holidays are around.

Those biscuits sound delicious! Can’t wait to make them. I have never ordered a grilled cheese sandwich before, but this sandwich was definitely the BEST thing I ate this week…or maybe ever! Cheddar, swiss, gorgonzola, and fontina with roasted roma tomatoes and avocado on buttery crusty sourdough bread. It was served with tomato bisque soup. Can’t wait to try this one at home!

Thanks so much for including my Bacon Wrapped Pretzels Rods…makes me glad I dug them out of archives…of course it helps that I made them and took a new photo too. And ate a lot of them in the process…oh the price we pay for sharing! Seriously addictive.
