The Weekend Dish 1/19/2013

Happy Saturday! We’ve plunged back into winter weather here, which means that taking down all of the Christmas decorations last weekend was a smart decision. That gives me plenty of time this weekend to soak up the return of NHL hockey! What do you have planned for this weekend? Anything good going on in your kitchen? I’m whipping up a batch of the Snickers Rice Krispies Treats to bring over to some friends later today!

As always, you’ll find a recap of what was posted to the site this week as well as some bookmarked recipes from other blogs. Enjoy!

What I Bookmarked This Week

Recipes and posts from other blogs that I thought looked especially delicious and that I thought you would like, too:

Banana Bread Tres Leches Cake (How Sweet It Is)
This cake is utterly amazing… I’d totally consume it for breakfast.

Chocolate Swirl Buns (Tracey’s Culinary Adventures)
Speaking of breakfast, these muffins are a cross between brioche and babka and the perfect excuse to eat chocolate for breakfast.

Fish Tacos with Yum Yum Sauce (Eclectic Recipes)
I had fresh fish tacos in Florida last year and fell in love. I really like the addition of the “yum yum” sauce here, as well as the pickled coleslaw.

Homemade Funfetti Cupcakes (Sally’s Baking Addiction)
Funfetti is such a popular flavor, but the downside is that it’s usually made from a box mix. This homemade version is absolutely gorgeous.

Roasted Red Pepper & Feta Skillet Scones (Joy the Baker)
These look like cozy comfort food, plus I love the combination of flavors. Perfect for these cold winter months.

What was the best thing you ate this week??

Have a delicious weekend!

Looks like a delish week and aside from the fish tacos, all those bookmarks you made are recipes I saw and was like whoa, I need that in my life! Thanks for the reminders!

Best thing I ate? I hate to say this but what sprang to mind was Oreos. I only buy them every once in a while because they are sooooo good.

Hey Michelle! Thanks for linking up to my homemade funfetti cupcakes. I can’t believe how easy it is to make them from scratch – honestly easier than any box mix. They take less than 30 minutes! The recipe came from another funfetti cupcake recipe I developed – I like this one better. :) Anyway, thanks for making my day!
