Six years ago today, in this little corner of the Internet, I wrote about Italian Wedding Soup and shared the recipe with whoever was reading (presumably, only my mom and my sister). My daughter had her Valentine’s school party last Thursday, so I made your vanilla cupcakes with vanilla buttercream frosting, although I turned the frosting pink. They were quite a hit!

I used to purchase this cake but have been unable to find it for the last few years and had finally decided to bite the bullet and make it myself. I have tried numerous recipes and then hit upon this one. The one is by far the best one that I have ever made. It does take some time but, it is well worth it.
