The Weekend Dish: 2/16/2013

Happy weekend!
I hope you all had a great week and that your Saturday is off to a nice, relaxing start! My Chief Culinary Consultant and I kicked it off yesterday by taking a stroll through the Pittsburgh Auto Show. I picked out tons of cars that are way out of my budget; it’s fun to dream, right?! I hope you have a fabulous weekend and enjoy some down time!
As always, you’ll find a recap of what was posted to the site this week as well as some bookmarked recipes from other blogs. Enjoy!

What I Bookmarked This Week
Recipes and posts from other blogs that I thought looked especially delicious and that I thought you would like, too:
Cannoli Stuffed French Toast (Two Peas and Their Pod)
It’s hard to find a really good cannoli, so I love the idea of getting my fix at breakfast at home!
Chocolate Fudge & Coconut Cake (Verses from my Kitchen)
I don’t eat chocolate and coconut together nearly enough and this cake looks like the perfect excuse to up my intake!
Dahlia Bakery Chocolate Truffle Cookies (Just Baked)
I’ve never heard of this bakery, but I sure need these cookies in my life.
Light & Crispy Waffles (Our Best Bites)
I don’t make a big breakfast often, but I LOVE Belgian waffles. I can’t wait to try this recipe!
White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake (Tracey’s Culinary Adventures)
I love the idea of a white chocolate cheesecake; this looks so pretty!
What was the best thing you ate this week??
Have a delicious weekend!

The best things I ate this week were red velvet cream cheese brownies, and the Oreo Cheesecake Truffles that I found here long ago and I finally got around to making them. They were so worth it! I’m spending extra time at the gym because of it…

I am dying to go to the Detroit Auto Show. I have wanted to go to the Red Carpet Charity Preview since I was literally 10. So far I have settled on watching it on TV every year, but my fingers are crossed for 2014. Both of my parents worked for Ford, so cars are kind of in my blood.

I love your blog!
The reference for Light & Crispy Waffles (Our Best Bites) may look like Belgian wafles. But aren’t real Blegian Waffles. Those require yeast and no buttermilk what so ever. I just want to point this out as a Belgian, because it doesn’t do our cuisine justice…
Thanks
