A Cookbook Giveaway!

Welcome to Brown Eyed Baker’s very first giveaway!

field-guide-to-cookies

A few weeks ago I was the lucky winner in Liliana’s giveaway of Field Guide to Cookies by Anita Chu of Dessert First, which was held over at My Cookbook Addiction.

How lucky was I! This is such a fantastic little book packed full of wonderful recipes. Pretty much any cookie you can think of is in there – everything from Amaretti, Black and White Cookies, and Macaroons to Baklava, Granola Bars, Gingersnaps, Rugelach, and much more for a total of 100 cookie recipes. I was most impressed by how many ethnic-inspired cookie recipes are included and can’t wait to give it a big workout come the holidays.

Due to some shipping issues that Liliana ran into, she ended up sending me two copies of the book and although both of them arrived to me safely she insisted that I keep both (what a sweet person!). Now I don’t want to be greedy and since it is such an amazing book, I want to share a copy with one of my lucky readers!

How To Enter: It’s easy! Just leave a comment telling me what your all-time favorite cookie is.

Bonus: If you share a link to this giveaway on your blog, through Facebook or Twitter, post another comment with a link to your shout out for a total of two possible chances to win.

Deadline to Enter: 11pm EST Saturday, June 6th

A winner will be selected by the random number generator on Sunday, June 7th and the book will be shipped to the winner on Monday.

**Please be sure to leave a valid email address when leaving a comment (no one will see it but me) so that I am able to notify you if you win!

My favorite cookie is No Bake Cookies. Yes, the very simple No Bake Cookies. Who doesn’t love the chocolate and peanut butter with oatmeal when warm. Oh good cold too. πŸ™‚

Easy: chocolate chip cookies–must be thick, chewy and a little crispy. What can I say? I am boring and predictable, but a classic is a classic for a reason. πŸ™‚

Hi! My all-time favorite cookie has got to be the “monster cookie.” Full of peanut butter, oatmeal, chocolate chips, chocolate coated candies and just about everything else under the sun, they are chew, gooey and delicious. Plus, they are usually 2x the size of regular cookies! YUMMY!

They are all my favorite, there’s no such thing as a bad cookie!

  177. Meghan on June 5, 2009 at 9:21 am

I love cookies. Period! Coconut macaroons, chocolate chip, snickerdoodles, you name it. But to choose a favorite I would have to go with Pfefferneuse. We use a completely bastardized version that has been handed down in my family and is unrecognisable as it’s namesake. We make these once a year, at Christmas. It is a two day event and easier with a crowd. For Christmas of 2007, I made them with my mom and grandma and it turned out to be one of the last days I spent with my grandma before she went off the Alzheimers’ cliff, and therefore one of the last truly lucid times I spent with her. The cookies are fabulous, the smell of the scotch they are dripped with smells like Christmas to me. I cant wait to pass this tradition down to my own someday kids!

  178. Candace on June 5, 2009 at 2:40 pm

Chocolate Chip cookies that aren’t too chewy or too crunchy. That’s not too much to ask right?

My all time favorite is the “Nieman Marcus” recipe that floats around the internet. Wherever it came from, that is the BEST cookie I have ever had. The dough is pretty good, too!

  192. Bread and Jam on June 6, 2009 at 7:43 pm

My mom makes cookies called cinnamon jumbles that are somewhat like a snicker doodle but with a cake texture. Pure bliss!

I know this competition has finished but I just had to say your all wrong. The best cookie in the world ever are underbaked, crispy on the outside, almost doughy on the inside, gorgeously decadent white chocolate chunk and freeze dried raspberry cookies.
They are a cookie to live or die for and blow plain old chocolate chip out of the water!
