Gender Reveal! It’s A…
I made cupcakes to announce the news to our families!
Girl or boy? Pink or blue??
The surprise is inside!
IT’S A BOY! :)
Joseph is going to have a little brother and we couldn’t be more excited! Now we need to pick a name :)
I adore your recipes and your personality! Thank you for letting me share in your life! Having two boys sounds so much fun!
All these bizarre inappropriate comments are scary. A woman shares exciting news with us and people start attacking her decisions and swearing at each other.?? Unbelievable.
Awww that’s so cute. ? Love the pink/blue cupcake idea.
Not sure how this post didn’t make it to my Inbox but that is wonderful news. I am stunned at the comments at the beginning of this post and the trail they took. Unbelievable.
Woo-Hoo! I’m late to the party but I’m so happy for you and your family – it doesn’t matter boy or girl but I do think it will make it easier that it’s a boy because you can hopefully use some of Joseph’s baby things again:) I’m sure Joseph will be thrilled with a baby brother
Yay! There is a special place in Heaven for moms of boys. I am one also! They love you until it hurts, literally and figuratively! Congratulations and hope you have a smooth pregnancy and aren’t too bothered by our Pittsburgh heat and humidity all summer!
Congratulations on the new baby boy to be!! I have 3 boys and just adopted a boy doggie. Love it!! Peace and blessings to you and your family. From your fellow Pittsburgher fan.
Congratulations Michelle! What a great idea for the gender reveal! Looking forward to years of happy brother pictures!!
Congratulations! I somehow I missed this earlier in the week! So glad you shared with us. Joseph will be a great big brother. Now on to the name choosing which is always so hard!
Oh my gosh! Another boy! How wonderful for you. You are sure living in a houseful of men. Two baby boys. Two dog boys. And one husband. Lots of fun! Enjoy. I pray for the health of your new little one and for a safe and healthy pregnancy and delivery!
Congratulations Michelle!! You have a lovely family!
Congrats and may God keep you safe for the balance of the journey.
Congratulations! May you have another healthy, uneventful pregnancy – I’m looking forward to seeing and hearing how you progress over the coming months and can’t wait for the real reveal – the first baby picture! All the best to you and your growing family!
Congratulations! Another step in your journey to a new little one.
Congratulations on the new baby…and a boy! How very exciting for your families.
Did you sent this out to the email (RS Feed…is that what it’s called?)? I didn’t get this in my regular, daily email…so I’m just wondering as I’ve missed emails before.
Hi Grae, It was supposed to go out, but there was an issue with the RSS feed last week that caused this email not to go. I’ve since fixed the issue, so sorry about that!
Congratulations! May you be blessed with a healthy, happy baby!
Congratulations Michelle and your whole family! I don’t know HOW I missed this announcement! I finally signed up for emails from a couple of my favorite bloggers (including you, of course!) since I am not checking my RSS reader very often lately. Don’t want to miss any more posts :)
Anyway back to you and your beautiful bundle of joy! Joseph will be such a great big brother, and I know Duke and Einstein will love having another buddy to play with! Can’t wait for more updates as the weeks tick by!
Michelle, I am so happy for you and your family! What a cute blog post — love the cupcakes… Thanks for sharing your very good news!
Congratulations!!! That’s so exciting!

Congrats!! So fun to have 2 of the same gender…playmates forever!!
Hi, these cupcakes look amazing! Can you share to me the recipe of the cupcakes, as well as the procedure for this gender reveal? I am going to organize a gender reveal party this June. Thank you so much!
Hi Maricor! The cupcakes were actually a box mix… last week was super hectic and I needed something quick and easy, so recipe there :) For the frosting, I always recommend my vanilla from these cupcakes: https://www.browneyedbaker.com/homemade-funfetti-cupcakes-from-scratch/.
As for the procedures, I baked and cooled the cupcakes, then used a paring knife to cut out the center of the cupcake, tinted some of the frosting blue, filled the cupcakes then put the cut out piece back on and frosted the tops! I hope that helps :)
Yaaaay!! Steeler football will be even more fun now!! Hope they wrap him in a terrible towel! Love the gender reveal cupcakes. My friend made her family sit through a whole meal before the cut the cake. The suspense was killing her mom! LOL! Congrats! Can’t wait to read about your journey. ?
Congratulations! I had boys too. Twice the fun! They are in their 30’s now and still best friends! Good health to you all!
Congratulations, two boys what a blessing. I have two of my own and got my girl via a wonderful daughter in-law. I have a grandson 6 months older than Joseph so I really enjoy your Friday updates, cannot wait to meet the new baby. Enjoy your recipes as well.
Congratulazioni from your Italian fan!
I’ve been a fan of the BEB blog for a very long time. I come here for cupcakes and puppies and babies and hockey and Sunday dinners with family. What I adore about it is it is good and it is sweet and it is completely devoid of hatred and vitriol. There are plenty of places to vent if you feel the need to do so, but this blog isn’t one of them. All those who agree say “Aye.”
Aye!
AYE!!
Congratulations! And such a cute way to make the reveal ^_^.
Congrats! I wish gender reveals were a “thing” when I was pregnant w/ my daughter (17 yrs ago – yikes!). So fun!!
Congratulations! (i guessed boy too). How exciting for you all!! He and Joseph will have such fun together!
Woohoo and congratulations! What a fun way to let everyone in on your secret and what a cute pair I’m sure your boys will be.
Congratulations! Since I already thought you were having a boy guess I am not surprised. Hope your next months are good and you have a healthy little boy.
Congratulations Michelle, Thankyou for sharing your happy news with us. Just wanted to ask if you are still able to finish your rainbow blanket, I know you mention that when you were carrying Joseph you started to suffer with carpal tunnel.
When you do finish maybe Joseph and his little brother could share it ????
Couldn’t be happier for you. I have two grown boys. It’s the best. Although some Barbies in my life would have been nice!!! All the best to you.
So happy for you. Congratulations!
I have two brothers and it is one of my biggest blessings in life! I am the middle child and have always felt loved and protected by them. Plus, they are super close now that we are all adults!!! Congratulations, I am truly so happy that my role model/ idol is such a blessed and happy woman! I can’t wait to let my mom know! (We look at your Joseph pictures all of the time when I go home on Sundays, usually after gobbling up one of your delicious dessert recipes or a big plate of pasta with your insane sauce and meatballs!)
So happy for you! Congrats!
Congrats!!
Watching two brothers grow and bond together is simply one of the best things in life!
Such happy news I got up each morning to check to see if you had the reveal for us. I am so happy for your family and thanks for sharing with your BEB family.
Congratulations!
Congrats! We are due with a baby girl in under 3 weeks! Ekkk!
This is the happiest of news, Michelle! I’m so excited for you. Joseph is very loving with Einstein & Duke and will be absolutely the best big brother to his new little brother when he arrives. The cupcakes are such a great idea too. I do pray that the rest of your pregnancy is blessed with ease and health and wonderful memories. Enjoy this time. I’m really sorry that some felt the need to be so selfish and rude on YOUR blog as you share your wonderful news with us. Many blessings are wished for you and your family and hugs sent to you. XO
Congratulations to you and your little family! Joseph will be such a great big bro and how much fun will you have at all those junior hockey practices! Thanks for sharing your special joy with all of your followers.
Phhewww. I am glad you clarified. I thought you were having a Smurf. :-) Congrats! And I love the idea of the cupcakes to reveal. Awesome idea, and they look delicious.
I have three sons and they are a joy. Congrats to you and your beautiful family.
Congratulations Michelle and family. I couldn’t be happier for you. I love the special way you broke the news to your family. You always make these celebrations memorable. (When I grow up, I want to be you!) Being the mom of two sons has it special joys. My two are in their 20’s now so I get my toddler fix from you and your wonderful blog.
Congratulations!
So very happy for you Michelle. May this little boy bring joy and happiness. You are very special to be blessed with sons.
Yay! Such happy news! I couldn’t wait to hear!! So excited for you!
How exciting! Thank you for sharing with us! He will be so blessed!
Oh Michelle, congrats to you and your beautiful family. This means you will share more Friday cuteness of all the boys, yeah us!!!! So so happy for you. Please delete these insane people on your comments section. Reveal away sister friend. God Bless! ?
Congratulations on your announcement. May you have a smooth easy pregnancy and delivery and a healthy child. Going to be loaded with a bunch of testosterone in your home-not a bad thing at all.
And if you could find a way to delete some previous comments, that would be a good thing.
Congratulations Michelle…Im sure Joseph will be a lovely big brother, not to mention, Einstein and Duke :-) xx
Congratz BEB! You are surrounded by all the boys!
So happy for you all and I bet Joseph is thrilled! Congrats!!!
Does it really matter if it’s a boy or a girl? What if he or she decides that the gender assigned at birth is not accurate. I’m so tired of this whole gender reveal bs. Maybe just celebrate that you have a healthy child and leave the rest alone??????
Kara,
Since you seem to be so opinionated, here’s mine to you: how bout you shut the hell up!
Clearly Michelle has been excited about having a healthy baby. So my advice to you is to shut your mouth from now on.
You should go suck a d*ck. Maybe that’ll help you to keep you from speaking such stupid things.
* Michelle: congrats!!!! So excited for you and your family! Thank you for sharing this exciting news with us!!!
I’m not sure an inappropriate response to an inappropriate comment really makes things more…appropriate.
I don’t think a comment like this is really appropriate. It’s their child and they want to let people know it is a boy and I don’t think it’s anyone’s right to judge them for that.
If you were a child, any decent parent would require that you, at the minimum, apologize. Maybe you could be an adult to yourself…..shame on you.
OH. SO WE CAN ONLY CELEBRATE HEALTHY BABIES NOW? you’ve got your own biases “Kara” now don’t you? “What if he she decides the gender assigned is not accurate?” So what?? What if a healthy baby later gets sick, should we then NOT celebrate the baby being healthy now? Stfu Kara. Seriously.
Oh god, and they say Social Justice Warriors are a myth.
Yep, Kara, you got it. Everyone is transgender, gay, asexual, or all of those at the same time. Bravo. You’ve cracked the code. Doesn’t matter that 99.7% of people with penises are male and people with vaginas are female. Nope! Everyone is trans.
I really can’t believe your rudeness. You had an option to read this great announcement and leave best wishes but you chose to be rude. This is when your opinion should have been kept to yourself because it absolutely doesn’t matter what you think or what you’re tired of.
Don’t listen to them Kara. I happen to agree that it is wrong that people force gender stereotypes on their children before they’re even born. I am a woman who has short hair and doesn’t wear makeup and most people who see me assume I’m either a man or a lesbian. I’m a straight woman married to a man yet when I go to a restaurant with him waitresses say things like, “Are you two gentlemen going to split the check?” I have a very feminine face and voice, but people are programmed to expect certain things. Things I have never been and had to fight against my entire life. Things like being the only woman in my engineering classes. These expectations are harmful to all of us. Maybe being transgender wouldn’t be such a big deal if people didn’t try so hard enforce outdated gender roles and stereotypes. I’m not trying to attack Michelle or anyone else for this, but I think it’s a conversation I think we need to have as a society. I would like to say shame on you ladies who felt they had to attack Kara for her opinion. You only made yourselves look like assholes.
Everyone is ‘entitled’ to an opinion. Where to express those opinions appropriately is a matter of taste, manners, grace, intelligence….you know, those attributes that make a decent human being. Oh, sorry, apparently neither you or Kara know this.
Well, what you just wrote doesn’t make you look like a decent human being either. Maybe you should take your own advice.
I agree with Tavona that forced gender stereotypes are harmful. I’ve experienced it myself. But obviously this blog isn’t the right place to have a decent conversation about that topic.
Nevertheless, I wish Michelle nothing but the best for her family!
I absolutely agree. This is neither the time nor place.
The reason this topic is a problem is because no one seems to think there is an appropriate time or place to discuss it. This is a blog. She puts her thoughts out on the internet and leaves a comment section. That is asking for a discussion. Just because you don’t like the direction this discussion is going doesn’t mean I’m a bad person. She has the option to delete these comments if they upset her. I would if I were her. Someone thought it was ok to tell someone else to suck a d*ck to shut them up because they disagreed with an opinion in a comments section. I also think that since this topic has had such a backlash of ignorance and hate that maybe this is the perfect place to bring it up. I’m calmly and thoughtfully disagreeing with something I think has very negatively affected our society. I didn’t turn nasty. I didn’t scream. I normally don’t comment on anything, but I saw someone being attacked for talking about something that negatively impacts me everyday and I wanted them to feel like someone else had their back. That they weren’t alone because some of the responses were just nasty.
All I can say is I feel sorry for you. It sounds like you are a very unhappy person. My prayers go out to you for a softened heart.
You have GOT to be kidding me with your pretension. This blog is about a woman and her life and her baking, not your opinions and your insecurities. Please refrain from talking to people like that completely.
Another BOY! Congrats a million times!!!
