Memorial Day Weekend Photo Diary [2017]
I hope that you had a lovely long holiday weekend! Did you grill, go strawberry picking, get an ice cream cone, watch a parade?
The weather here was gorgeous; we enjoyed a lot of great food, as well as a ton of family time. No parades or ice cream cones, but we had some fantastic homemade pizza, cookies, a s’mores cake, burgers and hot dogs on the grill, a mountain of fruit salad, and corn on the cob, the boys got haircuts, we visited my grandpap in the hospital, and we took a drive to my in-laws’ where Joseph ran and giggled in the yard all afternoon, and Dominic crashed on my mom.
(Spoiler alert: Dominic isn’t a fan of grass!)
A peek at our weekend…

(recipe coming soon!)
How was your weekend?Â
Great pictures of your weekend! So happy that the boys had a good time – the picture of Dominic in the grass makes me laugh! He’s such a cutie pie.
Hi,Â
I just love your little family, the boys are both such cuties and always appear to be smiling and totally engaged with each other. I also love your recipes and have tried many, Â I trie your grandma’s dessert the icebox cake over the holiday any did not have a morsel left. Have a great day.

Cute purse! Just bought the smaller version and I can’t wait to use it. BTW that pizza looks amazing :)
Happy post Memorial Day and thanks for the lovely picture show. Joseph is so cute and younger brother is a doll baby. That last picture melts your heart and you want to pull him in to your warmth of love and give him cuddles. Glad you had a nice holiday and keep up the pix and the recipes!
Your boys are adorable but I absolutely LUVED those chubby little baby feet and his pout!!
I am intrigued by your first picture. Â It looks like it has pretzels and potato chips and chocolate in it . . . Â I’m guessing it’s a dip of some sort, but I’m dying to know what it is.
That pizza looks like the it’s got a fabulous crust and looks delicious.
Hi Michelle, They are actually cookies! “Compost cookies” – they are in my archives, I took some new pictures so I could update the post :)
Delighted to see I”m not the only mama that changes her babies in the trunk of the car! Gotta do what you gotta do, right!!
Haha! Absolutely!
Looks like you had a great weekend. Everyone got to enjoy your little ones. Not into hockey but waiting on NBA playoffs. Watching a few baseball games.
So much adorableness! Thank you much for sharing, Michelle…. Blessings on your week!
Looks like a busy weekend! The pictures are so sweet. Well, except for the last one. :) I am a Nashville girl, so the first game was a heartbreaker.
Oh my goodness, that game was INSANE. I still can’t believe we won, totally crazy.
Love your pictures! That pic of Dominic in the grass is precious! Two of my three grandsons loved the grass…one NOT so much! Bet your excited….Penguins won last night! Hubby and I planted a lot of flowers this weekend..but otherwise a pretty quiet holiday. Let summer time begin. YAY!
Love that face on Dominic in the grass. He sure has some “guns” from all those pull-ups he must be doing! Great shots of your busy weekend, thanks for sharing!
Lovely post! The diaper changing photo of you in the trunk = the story of my life right now. And I wouldn’t trade it for the world! Give me 100 diapers a day is it means I can be with my baby =) But my little man is only 3 weeks old!! I’m looking forward to your Father’s Day recipes, I need something for dad for his birthday and fathers day, both this month =)
Awww 3 weeks! It seems like they’re only wee little for a split second, it goes so fast! I was looking through photos a few days ago of Dominic all wrinkly and swaddled and it already seems like a lifetime ago. So crazy!
Looks like a fun weekend! The pizza looks delicious. What pizza sauce did you use? Your recipes and recommendations are always spot on so can’t wait to try it.
Hi Traci, I use a super simple sauce from America’s Test Kitchen – 1 tablespoon olive oil, 2 garlic cloves minced and a 28-ounce can of crushed tomatoes. Warm the garlic in the oil on low heat for 2 minutes, add the crushed tomatoes, increase heat to medium and cook for 15 minutes, season with salt and pepper. If I’m short on time, I’ll just stir everything together and not even cook it. It freezes really well, too!
I love Memorial Day Weekend- the unofficial kickoff to summer, right?! Your weekend looks like it was super fun and filled with good food!!
