Welcome to Day 10 of the “12 Days of Giveaways”!

When we moved into our house back in May, there were already surround sound speakers built into the ceiling in the family room and into the walls of the master bedroom. We hired a guy to come in and get a handle on what needed to be done from a wiring perspective, especially in the family room, since the previous owner had the television above the fireplace, and we planned to mount ours on a far wall. We don’t have a television in our bedroom, so we weren’t thinking of doing anything with those speakers, but he said it could still be wired for sound and recommended SONOS. We hadn’t heard of it before, so my Chief Culinary Consultant did some research. As it turns out, it’s only one of the coolest things ever!

SONOS basically lets you play music from any device or app on your wireless network over the speakers. The BRIDGE connects to your router so that it can communicate with speakers anywhere in your house. From the SONOS app, you can play music that is on your desktop, laptop, iPad, or phone, connect to your Pandora, SiriusXM, local radio, Amazon cloud player, Last.fm, Spotify, and a ton of other music sources. You control everything from your smartphone, and can even set up multiple speakers in different rooms of your house, and control them all in one place.

In the end, we ended up wiring the speakers in our bedroom,  added a built-in speaker to the master bathroom, and then bought a SONOS PLAY:5 speaker for our kitchen, which sits on an open shelf above the refrigerator. They’re all powered from the SONOS BRIDGE and I can listen to my 80’s tunes (or, now, Christmas music) while I bake in the kitchen, and my Chief Culinary Consultant can listen to sports talk radio while he’s taking a shower.

We love this system so much, I wanted to give one away as part of my 12 Days of Giveaways! See details below on how to enter to win a SONOS BRIDGE and a SONOS speaker, which is all you need to get it up and running! You could put it in your kitchen, your bedroom, your office – anywhere you want to blast music!

(A reminder that the 12 Days of Giveaways will resume on Monday, 12/16 with Day 11!)

Definitely my favorite holiday song is Winter Wonderland, though I like most Christmasy songs. This year I have been especially enjoying the Christmas tunes put out by the amazing a capella group Pentatonix. I discovered them on YouTube. :)
