The Weekend Dish is a day late this weekend given the holiday yesterday, and will be featured next Sunday as well due to New Year’s falling on Saturday. What a whirlwind week this was! Lots of shopping, baking, spending time with friends and family. It was a fabulous holiday enjoyed by all. Christmas Eve dinner featured a modernized version of the Italian “feast of the fishes” – we stayed traditional with fried calamari, but then added baked orange roughy, crab cakes, and coconut shrimp. The meal was rounded out with baked ziti, salad, bread, and a tuscan bean soup. We also fried up corn and broccoli fritters before dinner. Christmas day was more laid back with a late lunch of ham sandwiches with scalloped potatoes and fresh green bean casserole. And of course, lots of cookie trays! How was your holiday? I’d love to hear about the food!
As always, you’ll find a recap of what was posted to the site this week as well as some bookmarked recipes from other blogs. Enjoy!
