The Weekend Dish 12/7/2013

Happy Saturday to you!

Is it snowy in your neck of the woods today? We got a good few inches; enough to look pretty, but not enough to be stranded inside for two days. Bummer! Duke got neutered yesterday, and came through the procedure just fine. Aside from a groggy nap when he first got home, he was completely back to his old self. Trying to keep him and Einstein from rough and tumble play for the next week is going to be no small feat! I’m spending the rest of the weekend working on some recipes; what are you up to? Any shopping or baking on your agenda?

As always, you’ll find a recap of what was posted to the site this week as well as some bookmarked recipes from other blogs. Enjoy!

What I Bookmarked This Week

Recipes and posts from other blogs that I thought looked especially delicious and that I thought you would like, too:

Bourbon Caramel Popcorn (Use Real Butter)
This looks utterly amazing; it would make a great homemade Christmas gift, packaged up in pretty cellophane bags with tags.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Reese’s Sandwich Cookies (Buns In My Oven)
My taste buds just exploded… these feed my chocolate/peanut butter obsession.

Gingerbread Cookie Dough Fudge (Lauren’s Latest)
I bet this tastes just like Christmas! I have to add this to my holiday baking list.

Roasted Cauliflower with Sage Browned Butter and Prosciutto (Confections of a Foodie Bride)
Since I’ve recently started experimenting with new vegetables, I thought this looked like a terrific recipe to put on the menu.

Snickers Cheesecake Fudge Brownies (Confessions of a Cookbook Queen)
Oh my, so many favorite things in these brownies! Amazing!

What was the best thing you ate this week??

Have a delicious weekend!

Just ordered my Christmas present….a Thermopen in Teal wih a matching spatula. I am making a roast for the inlaws on Christmas and don’t want to be disappointed with the results. Mama just has to have that! For my birthday I am eyeing those Fiest mixing bowls in Paprika which would go so well with my granite counter tops. You are a bad influence….(just kidding)

Glad to hear Duke made it through surgery without a hitch. I am thinking about making the Soft and Chewy Gingersnap Cookies tomorrow. Just curious, you said your CCC said they were in his top three all time favorites…so what are the other two? Enjoy your weekend!

    Glad to hear about Duke!
I might whip up saffron-raisin muffins. And I need to deal with some chicken fillets that have been sitting in the fridge..

Good luck in keeping Duke calm the next week! I’m going out for Indian food tonight! Excited! My oven should get in this week, then I can start baking for the holidays! Those soft Gingersnap cookies might be one of the first things made! 🙂 Enjoy your weekend!

What a great pic! Duke’s going to catch up to Einstein soon. Glad he did well with his surgery
