The Weekend Dish: 2/22/2014

Happy Saturday to you!

After a whirlwind week of travel, it’s been nice to spend a few quiet days at home catching up email, work, the pile of mail, and getting some extra puppy love from Einstein and Duke. This afternoon, my Chief Culinary Consultant and I are heading to my grandparents for a game night full of food, cards and dominoes! Other than that, we’re enjoying a pretty low-key weekend. We finally watched the first episode of House of Cards and loved it, so I’m sure we’re going to be watching a lot more of that! I hope you all are enjoying a wonderful weekend!

As always, you’ll find a recap of what was posted to the site this week as well as some bookmarked recipes from other blogs. Enjoy!

What I Bookmarked This Week

Recipes and posts from other blogs that I thought looked especially delicious and that I thought you would like, too:

Banana Bread Granola (Minimalist Baker)
I love having easy recipes to use up overripe bananas, and this sounds like the perfect breakfast/snack.

Cinnamon Crumb Breakfast Bread (Foodness Gracious)
I could seriously eat this entire loaf of bread for breakfast.

Creamy Coconut and Blood Orange Popsicles (Fork Knife Swoon)
It might still be winter, but I’ll eat ice cream and popsicles year-round; I love that these take advantage of blood orange season!

Creme Brûlée Cheesecake Bars (Cooking Classy)
Absolutely beautiful bars! These are a seriously impressive dessert.

Grandma’s Best Donuts (Buns In My Oven)
Love the simplicity of sugar-coated cake doughnuts. I foresee a weekend treat in my future!

What was the best thing you ate this week??

Have a delicious weekend!

I LOVED every single recipe you posted this week! I really want to try making my own pasta soon…my mom even gave me a Kitchenaid attachment for it. What *is* my excuse?!

I also can’t wait for my husband to get back so we can start on House of Cards!

I had a bowl of brisket chili from Due South BBQ in Christiansburg, VA., that was amazing. Definitely the best thing I ate last week.
