The Weekend Dish 3/29/2014

Happy Saturday!

I hope you all had a fantastic week and are enjoying a relaxing weekend. We have a day of hanging out with family planned for today; are you doing anything exciting? Even though it’s been a little windy and rainy, the warmer temperatures have been a welcome change here. I’ve loved hearing birds chirping in the morning. I’m ready to get spring going in full-gear!

As always, you’ll find a recap of what was posted to the site this week as well as some bookmarked recipes from other blogs. Enjoy!

On Brown Eyed Baker This Week

Ciabatta Bread – One of the best loaves of homemade bread I’ve ever made; the fact that it’s so easy makes it even better!

Peanut Butter Cup Overload Cake – The cake to end all cakes if you’re a chocolate and peanut butter fanatic like me!

Braised Short Ribs with Cheesy Grits (Slow Cooker) – The recreation of a meal I had last summer, and it was every bit as good as I remembered.

Vanilla Bean Rhubarb-Ginger Scones – Once rhubarb hits the stores, I know spring is officially here! I couldn’t wait to snatch some up and get baking.

What I Bookmarked This Week

Recipes and posts from other blogs that I thought looked especially delicious and that I thought you would like, too:

Caramel Peanut Butter Oatmeal Bars (Buns In My Oven)
I’m losing my mind over this combination of caramel, peanut butter, oats, and chocolate chips. I would eat the entire pan!

Carrot Cake Cheesecake (Cooking Classy)
This is the most beautiful dessert I’ve seen in ages. A serious show-stopper, and I’m sure even more delicious than it looks.

Crispy Smashed Potatoes (Shutterbean)
I can’t resist crispy carbs, no way, no how.

French Onion Pizza (Heather Christo)
French onion soup is a splurge I usually indulge in when having a meal at a nice steakhouse; I love the idea of turning it into a pizza!

Sweet & Salty Millionaire’s Layer Cake (Sweetapolita)
A six-layer chocolate cake filled with salted caramel and shortbread crumbs. I’m dying!

Have a delicious weekend!

Thrilled to find the weekend dish this morning! As usual, your bookmarks from other sites are super! Hoping to have a productive Saturday — cleaning and laundry. May have to make your beautiful ciabatta bread.

It looks like the Peanut Butter Cup Overload Cake took the cake this week. [I’m sorry. I had to.]
It’s easy to see why! I’d pin it but I already did! :-)
