The Weekend Dish: 5/14/2011
Do you feel summer creeping into your neck of the woods yet? A string of days in the 70’s here definitely has me feeling it. I’m loving the warm air, bright sun and fresh smells. And the produce! My fridge was full of zucchini, cucumbers, tomatoes, raspberries and rhubarb this week. Which, incidentally, makes for one fabulous week in the kitchen 🙂 Do you have any kitchen traditions for the summertime? Any recipes you always make? I would love to hear about them!
As always, you’ll find a recap of what was posted to the site this week as well as some bookmarked recipes from other blogs. Enjoy!

I just put (a different) banana ice cream on my list of to-do’s for next week, so I am all over this recipe! Love the banana and Nilla wafer combo.
Cinnamon Sugar Pull-Apart Bread (Fake Ginger)
First of all, this is an utterly gorgeous loaf of bread; it looks like art! And I can only imagine how delicious it is and how amazing it smells while baking.
Dark Chocolate Brownies with Espresso, Toasted Walnuts and Salted Caramel Glaze (Creative Culinary)
These have the be the cure-all for anything that ails you. Everything that is good and wonderful in the baking world is in these brownies.
Gluten-Free Toasted Coconut Waffles with Maple Cream (Joy the Baker)
Loving that these waffles are made from coconut flour; I can’t wait to try it! I also believe that when one eats these they should be able to teletransport to Hawaii. Or something like that.
Salted Caramel Peanut Bars (Confections of a Foodie Bride)
Yes. These have my name written all over them. And I love the depiction of the road trip – we stock up on goodies too!
Have a delicious weekend!
