The Weekend Dish 5/24/2014
Happy long weekend to you!
I hope you have some fun and relaxing things planned for the next few days, and hopefully it includes some good food! We are just planning to do some things around the house and have our parents over for a little grilling tomorrow. I’m also bound and determined to eat my first soft serve of the year this weekend… it will happen! Whatever you’re up to, I hope you have a blast and are safe!
As always, you’ll find a recap of what was posted to the site this week as well as some bookmarked recipes from other blogs. Enjoy!
On Brown Eyed Baker This Week
Soft and Chewy M&M Cookies – Such pretty and nostalgic cookies full of M&M candies.
Homemade Chex Mix – I never knew how good homemade Chex Mix could be! Totally addicted to this stuff now!
Hi-Hat Cupcakes – Chocolate cupcakes topped with a marshmallow frosting and dipped in a chocolate coating. Amazing!
Seven Layer Salad – Total nostalgia and a summer picnic must-have! Layers of lettuce, peas, red onion, bacon, cheese, hard-boiled eggs and scallions are drenched in the most amazing salad dressing.
Friday Things – Einstein’s ear, basement pencil sharpeners, mangoes, cinnamon rolls, and more!

What I Bookmarked This Week
Recipes and posts from other blogs that I thought looked especially delicious and that I thought you would like, too:
Apricots & Cream Thumbprint Scones (Love and Olive Oil)
I just love scones and this hybrid thumbprint/scone with apricot in the middle sounds amazing for breakfast.
Mango Vanilla Honey Push Up Pops (Heather Christo)
These are absolutely screaming summer to me. I want to eat one while sitting on my grandma’s front steps (my favorite place in the world to eat a push up pop).
Skillet Baked Ziti (Tide and Thyme)
Baked ziti is my number one comfort food; love the idea of making it in a skillet!
Slow-Cooker Honey Mustard Pulled Pork (Foodie with Family)
I am dying to do more pulled pork in my slow cooker this summer and this looks like an absolute “must” recipe.
Have a delicious weekend!
