The Weekend Dish: 6/16/2012

Ahh, hello Saturday! This weekend in particular seemed to be a long time coming. I had some major kitchen hiccups earlier in the week, and by Wednesday I was officially ready for the weekend! My Chief Culinary Consultant and I gave the week a nice send off by spending yesterday evening outlet shopping since the weather was beyond beautiful. It was a successful shopping trip (read: many bags), especially since we made our customary stop in the food court for an Auntie Anne’s pretzel. It wouldn’t be outlet shopping without one! Today, I’ll be helping my mom to prep some food for a cookout tomorrow to celebrate Father’s Day in conjunction with my grandpap’s birthday. What are you up to this weekend?     Ok, when I first saw “that chocolate cake” and read that it said “dessert for breakfast” I put two and two together and…

    Maybe that was wishful thinking. 🙂

    And now I have to go find out about your hot fudge sauce. Your photos are always so beautiful!

    Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Billionaire Bars! Made them, loved them, brought them to pot luck after daughter’s kindergarten graduation. The not so smart people in charge set them out in the gosh darn sun. They began to turn to mush! Made me so mad that we snatched ’em up and brought them back home, popped them in the fridge until they were firm and then devoured them. My family was so happy that it happened so they could have them all to themselves. Anyone and everyone that had a nibble demanded I email them a link to your CCCDBB recipe. Too bad the pot luckers missed out.

    I made your salted chocolate shortbread cookies to take to a grad party later today. They were easy to make and I like the way they look. My husband tried one and loves them! (i’m off sugar and flour right now so he was my taste tester.) Thanks and have a great weekend!

    Best dish I ate this week – basil fettuccine with a tomato conserve and fresh ricotta cheese.
    Best dish I made this week – Peanut Butter Pie. In fact, the recipe is soooo easy and makes TWO, so we still have some in the fridge!
    Best meal I am making for “DAD” tonight – Rachel Ray’s Albondigas Subs, fresh from the Farmer’s Market salad, creamed corn AND Mary Helen’s amazing Lemon Freezer Pie.
    Best dish I can’t wait to try – those CCCDB bars … maybe next week 🙂
