The Weekend Dish: 7/9/2011

I hope everyone had a wonderful long weekend last weekend! Did you have any great picnic food? Ironically, the highlight for me was something that I normally do not like at all – kielbasa! I’m not a fan, and I really don’t like sauerkraut, but one of my Chief Culinary Consultant’s friends made kielbasa and sauerkraut that was cooked in beer and brown sugar. It was DELICIOUS, totally melted in my mouth. I could have easily eaten three sandwiches. As soon as I get the recipe nailed down, I will be sure to share it with you! I also got to catch a Pirates game this week, which was a lot of fun. I didn’t take many pictures, but did get a great one of the Roberto Clemente bridge as we were leaving the game:

As always, you’ll find a recap of what was posted to the site this week as well as some bookmarked recipes from other blogs. Enjoy! 🙂

The quality of the kielbasa matters a lot too! Don’t buy the cheap stuff. Another great picture of our beautiful Pittsburgh!

Kielbasa is the BEST. My parents used to make it numerous times a week, and boy do I miss living at home because of it 🙁
