The Weekend Dish: 8/16/2014
I’m not sure what it’s been like in your neck of the woods, but it’s been feeling like straight-up fall here in Pittsburgh this week. I have been absolutely loving the weather; yesterday felt like I should be hearing the PA announcer and cheers of a local high school football game. I hope you have a fabulous weekend planned!
As always, you’ll find a recap of what was posted to the site this week as well as some bookmarked recipes from other blogs. Enjoy!
On Brown Eyed Baker This Week
Ultimate Banana Bread – A little more involved than your typical banana bread, but oh my is it amazing!
Quick & Easy Refrigerator Dill Pickles – No canning required, and they’ll last for up to 2 months in the refrigerator.
Malted Chocolate Chip Blondies – Blondies infused with malted milk powder and crushed Whoppers candies.
Overnight Chilled Plum-Oatmeal Pudding – If you love oatmeal, but don’t love hot breakfasts in the summer, this is a perfect compromise.
Friday Things – An anniversary, a mid-week trip, some videos and other fun stuff…

What I Bookmarked This Week
Recipes and posts from other blogs that I thought looked especially delicious and that I thought you would like, too:
Blueberry Cobbler Biscuits (The Candid Appetite)
I am convinced that I could eat these for breakfast and it would be perfectly acceptable.
Bourbon Caramelized Bacon and Heirloom Tomato BLT with Fried Eggs & Smoked Gouda (Half Baked Harvest)
I love sandwiches and this one looks absolutely to-die-for.
Crispy, Gooey Fresh Mozzarella Steaks (Foodie with Family)
If there’s fried cheese on a menu, I’m going to eat it. I can’t believe I haven’t made it at home yet!
Fried Pickles (She Wears Many Hats)
Yet another must-order for me if it’s on a menu. This might be the best homemade version I’ve seen to date.
Tart Cherry Pie with Lattice Crust (Love and Olive Oil)
An absolutely stunning pie; I would love to dig in with a fork!
Have a delicious weekend!
