The Weekend Dish: 9/21/2013

Happy Saturday to you! It’s a very wet and soggy one here in my little corner of the world, which means it’s a good excuse for holing up inside, playing around in the kitchen and getting some much-needed cleaning done. Now that fall has arrived, I’m in full-on nesting mode – I’m loving cleaning, organizing and warm spices in the kitchen! What are you up to this weekend?

As always, you’ll find a recap of what was posted to the site this week as well as some bookmarked recipes from other blogs. Enjoy!

Muddy Buddies [a.k.a. Puppy Chow] – Rice Chex cereal coated in a melted chocolate and peanut butter mixture, then tossed in powdered sugar. Do I even need to tell you how addicting it is?!

Cinnamon Babka – This cinnamon bread brought back such sweet memories of time spent at my grandma’s. The filling is amazing!

Caramelized Pear Tart – I gave pears a chance to shine in this apple-dominated fall baking world, and this easy puff pastry-based tart was incredible.

What I Bookmarked This Week

Recipes and posts from other blogs that I thought looked especially delicious and that I thought you would like, too:

Apple Crumb Cake (From Brazil To You)
I don’t need many excuses to make crumb cake; throw in apple and cinnamon and I just can’t resist.

Cheesy Garlic Breadsticks (Foodie with Family)
If there was a fan club for cheesy carbs, I would most certainly want to be president. These breadsticks looks amazing!

Holy Heck Brownies (Cookies and Cups)
Fudgy brownies with loads of add-ins – right up my alley!

Salted Caramel Peanut Butter Cooks (Mountain Mama Cooks)
A homemade peanut butter cup with salted caramel? Just send me the whole batch, please.

Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Chicken (Just a Taste)
I’m looking forward to putting my slow cooker to more use this fall and winter, so I’m saving up recipes. This looks delicious and a great base for sandwiches, wraps or a salad.

What was the best thing you ate this week??

Have a delicious weekend!

The rain is slowly making its way to us right now but we had a nice morning so that was good! Have a great weekend! Oh and the best thing I ate this week were some meatballs that I made. Seriously could not stop popping them in my mouth!

So the Holy Heck Brownies caught my eye. All I can say is Holy Heck! Easy to make but even easier to eat. They were fabulous but I had to do 4 miles on the treadmill to balance out my calorie count for the day. It was totally worth it!!
