Thursday Things
Merry Christmas Eve! Since tomorrow is a holiday, I’m rocking my usual Friday Things today!
- We’re all ready to celebrate Joseph’s first Christmas! He saw Santa at the mall last week and there was no crying! He sort of had a confused, stone face about the whole thing, but he did really well :)
2. This story about a white envelope in the Christmas tree is the epitome of what Christmas should be all about. I absolutely love this story.
3. I am super jealous of the huge snowfall that hit the western side of the country this past week. Here in Pittsburgh, it’s been in the 50’s and 60’s and raining and it looks to stay that way for the foreseeable future. SO not Christmas weather. I ran out to Target in FLIP FLOPS two nights ago. I want snow!
4. Have you heard of these Netflix socks? They’re somehow connected to your Netflix account and they sense when your body falls asleep and automatically pause whatever you’re watching. Crazy!
5. Do you have any New Year’s Eve plans? I’m pretty sure we’ll be opting for a low-key evening at home :)
6. If it’s cold and snowy where you live and you have a dog, this homemade dog paw wax is awesome! You rub it on the bottom of their paws before they go outside and it helps to keep the snow and ice from building up in between their toes.
7. My father-in-law made it to our league’s super bowl for the first time ever. I told him if he wins on Sunday, I will most definitely pour Gatorade on his head. Maybe only a few drops, but I feel like it needs to happen.
8. Did you watch the Homeland finale yet? Whaaaattttttt?? I hate cliffhangers!
9. Speaking of TV, if you like documentary-style shows, I love, love, LOVE 30 for 30 on ESPN. Ironically, almost every single one has been about someone or something that I have pretty much known nothing about, and I always think I won’t be very into watching it, but they are so incredibly well done that I get totally sucked in.
10. TGI…T! Einstein and Duke wish you the merriest of Christmases!
Wow amazing he sits on his lab. Mine is 3 and still refuses to take a santa picture. If you are looking for a new show to watch we just got hooked on Bantshee. . .can;t stop washing highly recommend.
Merry Christmas! A beautiful New Year!
Love the white envelope story….tears in my eyes-really!❤️
The dog picture—just precious! They are cute guys!!
Joseph & Santa—dontcha just wonder what Joseph is thinking at that moment? I do! Such a special time for you & your family…enjoy it all!
Merry Christmas to you too. I love all your posts. The best of the 2016??
A very Merry Xmas to you and your wonderful family.
Thank you for all your wonderful posts and fabulous pictures, I have so enjoyed them.
All the best for the New Year 2016?
Joseph, Einstein, and Duke! Oh, paw wax, am DYING!!! wanted to mention before how adorable your son is and this is the perfect!! Little ones do NOT necessarily get Santa. Can we blame them? A huge man, in a red, wierd outfit, gloves, black boots, red hat, and usually the beards are so bad. The dogs, ADORABLE. priceless expressions. Some people think animals do not have emotions! That pic proves those people wrong! Onto the paw wax. IDK, just ? me giggle. Sounded funny. Would either dog let you put that on, or would they just eat It!? Love to put on my cats paws! Oh no!! That would be a riot. Anyway, love you, love your blog, love your recipes! MANY THANKS FOR THE HARD WORK! BLESSINGS AND PROSPERITY FOR THE NEW YEAR!And loads of laughter!!
That is such a precious picture of Joseph and Santa looking at each other! Merry Christmas!
I hope you and your family have a Merry Christmas. The photo of your son and Santa is too cute for words…his expression is priceless. Thank you for a year of awesome posts and delicious recipes and those amazing photos of your beautiful Einstein and Duke. I hope in the coming year you might have a book coming out or consider a channel on YouTube…I can easily see it becoming so popular, your recipes are the best and you cake creations, they speak for themselves. You’re so talented and I’ve succeeded with so many of your recipes, I know others would buy your cookbook or watch your channel. Love your blog, it’s the only one I consistently keep up with. Thank you!!
Love the expression on Joseph’s face, to me it looks like a “what you talking about Willls?” face! And the dogs as always are gorgeous! It’s alaready Christmas morning here in Australia and, like you, I’m not thrilled with the weather…it is a cool 22 with no sun (yet) which is unusual for this time of year. At least it won’t bother me to put the oven on to cook my turducken…they are huge here this year and I’ve been wanting to try one. I do understand missing the snow, it just isn’t the same (I’m from Canada). Oh…Homeland, I do so love that show, cliffhangers and all. I am wondering whatever happened to Brodie coming back??? Merry Christmas Michelle!
Absolutely gorgeous picture of Einstein & Duke….I miss my two (Roxanne & Samantha) so much this time of year.
Merry Christmas! Joseph looks so adorable on Santa’s lap…I’m really amazed he didn’t cry but I’m sure you were standing nearby which probably relaxed him. I haven’t watched Homeland yet this season – I have it all on the DVR and will be binge watching it this weekend. I love the “white envelope” story – it really exemplifies what Christmas is all about. Not sure about those Netflix socks..they kind of scare me…lol…Hope you have a great day tomorrow!. Have no plans for New Year’s Eve except to maybe binge on movies and food.
Merry Christmas!

Joseph is just adorable! Merry Christmas to all of you!
Loved Homeland, but will miss Quinn. :(
I wish you and your family the BEST Christmas ever! No snow in OH and way too warm for me. Need to get back to cookie-making and frosting. I enjoy your blog and most of my Christmas treats are from your efforts. THANK YOU so very much!
Yes, homeland really brought it this season. Merry Christmas to you and your family, Michelle :)
Oh my goodness, the picture of Joseph sitting on Santa’s lap is perfect. That Santa is amazing…he has a “look” that seems so kind and caring from his clothing to the expression on his face. I would imagine he has pretty good success keeping kids calm and happy during the photos. He looks nothing like the typical Santa you see everywhere…those guys are often look very intimidating and more than a little bit scary. I think you and your husband will cherish this first photo of meeting Santa as he gets older and you look back on his first Christmas. The pictures of your furry boys is perfect as well…they are such handsome boys.
I wish you and you family a very joyful and fun filled Christmas!
The look on Joseph’s face is priceless, and so is that picture. What a perfect looking Santa. Merry Christmas to you and your family, and a New Year full of love, laughter and good health!!
Love, love, love those pups! {{hugs}}
Joseph looks adorable. He is a few months older than our youngest grandson but our little man just stares at you — trying to figure out whether he approves or not. He is simply adorable as is Joseph. We always stay in for a quiet New Years Eve — we like it that way. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!
Merry Christmas Michelle! I am not missing the snow but this warm weather certainly makes it not feel like Christmas. Have a wonderful holiday with Joseph and your family.
Merry Christmas Michelle to you and your family x
He did so good not crying with Santa!!!! There is a picture of me with Santa crying and holding on tight to Santa’s beard with Santa saying through gritted teeth, “let go kid!”
Homeland was a killer. I was living for each episode the last few weeks and then that! Ah!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to You too! Your blog has saved me from many baking/cooking dilemma, Thank You <3
