Friday Things #393
1. The other side of that door is our powder room, and this is a perfect depiction of what it’s like to try to go to the bathroom in our house 🤣
2. Nearly anytime my husband or I take a picture of something, Isabelle immediately asks to see it… and 90% of the time she looks and then says (no matter what it is), “Awww, dat’s boo-tee-ful” ❤️️
3. Joseph lost two teeth in less than 48 hours this week! 😲 The tooth fairy was very busy! My car-obsessed 5-year-old is trying to figure out how many more teeth he needs to lose to have enough money to buy parts to build a Porsche 911 🤔😬
4. Dominic and I spent a ton of time outside together last Sunday and he enjoyed every single minute of the rare one-on-one time ❤️️
5. Did you score any great deals on Amazon for Prime Day? I totally forgot about it!
6. This is a long read, but I really enjoyed this piece about Ina Garten >> Barefoot in Quarantine… I’ve adored her since I started watching cooking shows in my early 20’s!
7. It was Canadian Thanksgiving this past Monday, and my traditional bread stuffing got lots of love! A super classic version of stuffing that is perfect for holiday dinners.
8. So disappointed in Pennsylvania! >> The Most Popular Halloween Candies in Every State
9. We finished up watching The Three Musketeers, now we’re searching for something new to watch once again! Any recommendations?
10. TGIF! Queen of the couch 😍

Haha my bathroom door looks like yours. I’m not sure why there is even a door there. Everyone needs something as soon as that door closes.
My seven year old has a love of expensive sports cars too, Zeek’s favorite is a Lamborghini. I’m not really sure where he saw one or found out about them.
Have you watched Schitts Creek on Netflix? It is hilarious.
Awww…Judith and kids look boo-teeful😊
Your traditional bread stuffing tastes so much like my mom’s. I was beyond thrilled when I tried the recipe and immediately sent it to my sister. I enjoy it every year.
I was absent mindedly scrolling through my feed when I saw a picture of a beautiful dog on a couch. I immediately thought, “Oh, it’s Friday Things!”. It brightened up my day after a very challenging week. Thank you for continuing to post these. ❤️
Let me tell you what you are in for with the car obsessed one! My newly 12 yo had his dad set up an Etrade account for him when he was 10. He has put just about every penny he has ever earned in there. He tracks his “portfolio” on his phone. When I asked him what he wanted for Xmas this year, he said, “Cash to buy stocks.” All because he is OBSESSED with buying a restored vintage car when he turns 16! Be prepared!!!! :)
If you are subscribed to apple TV Ted Lasso was very good. I could hardly wait until Fridays when they released a new show. You can binge watch it now. Also Defending Jacob was great.
The Octopus Teacher on Netflix is a must watch documentary.
Flesh and Blood on Masterpiece.
Thanks for the link to the Ina Garten article, it is well written and quite interesting. She is one of my favorite food celebs and I just spent an afternoon reading the new cookbook. Keep up all of your hard work, it continues to be a highlight of this retiree’s Friday.
Thanks for the link to Ina’s story. I have followed her forever and even aspire to cook like her. My kids call me Tumbleweed Contessa. I live in West Texas.
I have followed your story too. Your precious children are growing up just like my grandkids.
Best wishes for tasty dishes,
The Contessa

Hi Michelle! You asked about Prime Day purchases. I picked up a Ninja Foodi 8qt Deluxe on sale! I’ am anxious to expand my cooking options with this baby!
I’m enjoying Blacklist right now. Very well written and surprisingly and thankfully without 4-letter words. Just get through the first couple of episodes and all, well almost all, will be revealed. So look forward to reading your post every Friday. It is a nice bright spot to read about your sweet little family. Oh, I almost forgot…looking for a good haluski recipe. Do Italians eat Haluski? A little old man here in my lovely retirement community was mentioning how much he loved that recipe. Wishing you all the best.
Love your weekly blog. The photos of your family is precious, thank you for sharing.
Watched 2 great shows on Netflix, one is “Evil” and the other is a sitcom called “The Unicorn”. Thoroughly enjoyed both of them.
Enjoyed the candy listing. Indiana, Maryland and TN (all representing me and my husband – where we are from and where we live now) were pretty on spot! Loved hearing about the kids, as always. You should get Joseph the kid’s book, “The Bully Boys Trick the Tooth Fairy” by Mike Thaler. It’s a hilarious story about 3 brothers who, when they find out the the tooth fairy gives money for teeth, set out to steal teeth from other kids, an old lady’s dentures, and even their own teeth before they are ready to come out! Amazon has it https://www.amazon.com/Bully-Brothers-Trick-Tooth-Aboard/dp/0448405199
I will take your PA Halloween candy over my NY candy any day!
The bathroom pic is great! So typical of young families. Have you watched Madam Secretary on Netflix? I absolutely love this series.
Things to watch. Netflix Kim’s Convenience and The Chef Show are really good. Kim’s is a Canadian RV show about a couple that owns a convenience store with 2 young adult children. And The Chef Show is actor/director John Favreau and his mentor/chef friend Roy Choi talk and cook and have fun.
Watch The Boys on Prime
My boyfriend and I are watching this!!! We love it!!!
It’s really really graphic
Good morning – Not sure if you’re looking for a family movie or one for just you and your husband. My kids are all grown up now but they liked ‘Mousehunt’ a lot.
My husband and I watched Fauda on Netflix and hoping there will be more seasons to come. I just leave the room during the violent scenes.
Hi can you get a bbc series called ‘Waking the Dead’. Another detective series ‘unforgotten’.
‘Shetland’ ‘Vera’
We’ve been watching this list in order. It’s been fun for the kids to see the progression of technology through animation. And we needed something to do since we watched every movie I could think of at the beginning of quarantine.
