Friday Things #436
1. It was a busy week here with more back-to-school excitement!
2. First up was Dominic on Monday with his first day of pre-k. He was so, so excited to go and had a great time. His favorite part of the day? Playing in the play kitchen and using the pretend microwave ;-)
3. The next day Isabelle had her very first day of preschool! She also could not have been more excited and on the way home, asked me if I could take her back so she could stay at school all day 💗
4. After being home for the better part of the last 18 months, I really had no idea how these two would handle heading off to school. To my surprise, they both marched right into school as happy as could be. And that makes my heart so happy ❤️
5. Really intriguing concept of making a “Don’t Want” list.
6. Saw this on FB and love it not for every exact thing, but for how much it exudes balance over the course of the month…
7. While I love mac and cheese and I love ice cream, I think I might draw the line at mac and cheese ice cream 😬
8. My boys are super excited about college football starting this weekend… bring on the snacks!!
9. Yellowstone Season 4 trailer is heeeeeeeere 🤩 Countdown to November 7th!
10. TGIF! Best couch buddy ever ❤️
Your kids are so cute, so glad they’re enjoying school. I found the monthly schedule overwhelming…I’m not sure how I’d fit all that in, even over a month. I am on the middle of the introvert/extrovert scale and I’m single so I am used to spending a lot of time by myself. It sounds like something to aspire to but it makes me anxious to think of setting a goal like that. I prefer to just let things happen. Mac and cheese ice cream sounds disgusting! I have not gotten into Yellowstone, I tried. I like Virgin River. And your doggy is gorgeous!
I am a total introvert so yeah, all of the “out with friends” thing totally wouldn’t be on my schedule, but I liked the whole no social media, a day serving others, a day outdoors, movie night, etc.
I imagine the pandemic and quarantine has been hard for parents with kids missing out on childhood milestones…you seem to have breezed thru it! I guess your kids are just the right ages! :)
The “I don’t want” list is an interesting concept…tiny problem: our economy is 70% consumerism! Guess we just have to pull off that bandaid :P
I am with ya on the mac n cheese ice cream…also garlic ice cream and bacon ice cream! Yuck!
I absolutely adore your Friday things.
As I near my 70th birthday, there are many things I don’t want. When I moved from my house of 37 yrs., six yrs. ago I got rid of SO much stuff. Recently I found a FB group called Buy Nothing _________ (name of town) where members offer things for free & others ask for them. And on Wish Wednesday you can ask for something.& others try to fulfill their wish. You wouldn’t believe the generosity of members! I’ve gotten many things for my great niece & nephew (clothes & toys), and a few things for myself (two original paintings). I recommend everyone see if there’s a group in their town. It’s a great way to get rid of stuff they no longer want & someone else can use.
The kids are so cute & growing so fast! Enjoy your holiday weekend!
I have read your blog since you started it. I look forward to every Friday’s post to watch your darling children.
I am about to retire and I loved the list of things to do to plan a month. I think this will help me have something to look forward to. I’m adding some time with my grandchildren (maybe more than once a month).
Thanks. Linda
Love the pictures! The children are adorable! It’s so nice seeing how excited they are about school ! Yes I’m with you Michelle on the Mac n cheese ice cream ! No way !
I have 3 Goldens & two of them love snuggling w/ me on the bed after my husband gets up for work. It’s heaven on earth. Lol
Those kiddos!! So adorable and the excitement on their faces is priceless!
Love the pic of you and your couch-buddy. Super sweet. Thanks for sharing the love!
That “Don’t Want” list is EVERYTHING. In this age of censorship, it paints a direct correlation between those with inner contentment and those who envy…but with that aside, all of us could stand to reflect on things they don’t want. Love it, Michelle. Thanks for posting!
I loved the link to the “Don’t Want” list, I shared it with my family this morning. I definitely have a don’t want list of my own, but I like the idea of being more specific. On my list is “more stuff” – not very specific and I am working hard at getting rid of things I already have.
Have a great weekend and enjoy your football!
Love the pictures and feel the same way about mac and cheese ice cream. Have a good weekend!
Hope it’s a great year for the kids! I’m so excited for Yellowstone!
Gosh, Isabelle’s first day of school picture is the sweetest 🥰
