The Weekend Dish: 12/26/2015
Happy post-holiday weekend!
I hope you had an absolutely fantastic Christmas and got to spend some great time with your family and friends. We had a wonderful Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with Joseph and our families. Watching Joseph giggle and clap and have so much fun was the best part of our holiday – it really couldn’t be beat.
As always, you’ll find a recap of what was posted to the site this week, the most shared recipes, my Sunday dinner menu, and recipes I’ve bookmarked from other blogs. Enjoy!
On Brown Eyed Baker This Week
Gingerbread Pound Cake – This gingerbread pound cake has the texture of a classic pound cake with all of the molasses and spice flavors of a traditional gingerbread.
Christmas Cake – Christmas Cake, a.k.a. not your grandmother’s fruit cake. This incredibly dense cake is packed with rum-soaked dried fruit and has tons of flavor!
Overnight Baked French Toast Casserole with Praline Topping – This French toast casserole is wonderfully decadent, making it perfect for holidays or overnight guests!
Thursday Things – Some holiday talk, links to great stories and some TV chat!
Merry Christmas! – I hope you had a wonderful Christmas holiday!

What I Bookmarked This Week
Recipes and posts from other blogs that I thought looked especially delicious and that I thought you would like, too:
Kung Pao Chicken (Hip Foodie Mom)
My go-to Chinese food order is always general tso’s chicken, but I tried kung pao chicken once and loved it. I’m totally trying this homemade version!
Maple Apple Spice Cake with Spiced Cream Cheese Frosting (Carlsbad Cravings)
This looks like the perfect wintertime dessert – an easy snack cake to keep on hand for company.
Strawberry Brownie Cheesecake (Live, Love & Sugar)
In my book, there is never a bad time to serve cheesecake for dessert. Love this brownie and strawberry mashup!
Sweet Chili Glazed Meatballs (With Salt & Wit)
I could eat these for breakfast, lunch and dinner, but I also think they’d be a great appetizer!
Sweet and Spicy Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms (The Suburban Soapbox)
Love, love, LOVE sausage stuffed mushrooms and this looks like the best version I’ve seen so far!
Have a delicious weekend!
