It looks like we’re going to have record low temperatures here, so nothing outside! I snagged some pumpernickel flour so I’m going to give sourdough starter another go… wish me luck!

Hi Michelle! Just coming in to tell you, thanks for introducing me to the KAF pizza. I tried it last week and it was so good!
The Crispy Cheesy pan pizza from KAF is soo good! I’ve just used marinara sauce from a jar for the pizza sauce. I also made it in my 12″ skillet because I don’t have a 10″ one and it w0rked fine. I guess it’s a little thinner than the recipe calls for, but it was perfect for us!

I’ve been reading your bread baking tips and that last one (#4) was the best tip ever!  I had no idea I couldn’t slice into a warm loaf but now I know.  Thank you!
Let me echo what others have said. The KAF pizza is amazing. I did a multiday  rise in the fridge with great success. I was surprised the recipe didn’t include a pizza sauce recipe so I made the thick and rich pizza sauce from Budget Bytes, which I thought was the perfect sauce. If you are going to be feeding more than two people you will definitely need to double. I made mine in a square aluminum pan since my cast iron skillet is too large. You definitely need to make it.
The King Arthur Pizza is SOOO good!  We’ve made it at least 4 times already this year (sausage and pepperoni).  Definitely listen to them on the little bit of sauce though.  I keep putting too much!
The KA recipe of the year pizza is now our Sunday night ritual. We’ve tweaked it a tad to serve just a bit more, but we’ve made it at least 6 times in as many weeks. Tasty pizza whether you go with a traditional red sauce and toppings, or swap things to suit your taste. I will say we concluded that it doesn’t need a ton of pizza sauce (one of us has to limit tomatoes), but it needs a bit more or a bit wider distribution to suit our tastes.
Happy Mother’s Day. What joy to look forward to going out to a restaurant soon for you hopefully. As much joy as cooking can bring, so can rest. I know my Mom sure misses going out to a restaurant. Just to get out of the house for a bit, see some other people. Sure will make us appreciate a lot of things a bit more once we can finally get some of our freedoms back. In CA it might be awhile.

Why can’t I read your posts in Feedly anymore? Now I only see a small portion and have to click to your site, but it’s distracting to read on your site because of all of the ads and videos popping up. Â The little Pinterest, Facebook, etc. buttons on the left also blocks the text as I’m trying to read.Â
Same here! I love your blog and the content, but it’s really hard to read on mobile with all of the pop ups and videos. I’m finding myself not clicking through to many of your posts since the change. It’s so much easier to read in Feedly.
Not Michelle, but I thought I’d let you know that I can read BEB in Feedly without problems. I can’t get the blog to come up from the link in her emails, but Feedly seems to work OK for me.

I’ve made K.A. Crispy Pan pizza twice since quarantine. Both times it was delicious and easy to make. But, I did the 1st rise for 72 hours first time and did the 1st rise for 24hrs the second attempt. The longer rise time is a better crispy/crunchy texture. Also, don’t be tempted to over sauce this pizza! It’s all about the cheesy goodness.
Yes! I finally made the KAF pan pizza last evening (well, started the dough on Thursday). It was soooo good and easy, just had numerous steps. My husband, who does not usually like deep dish pizza, absolutely loved it! We could hardly wait for it to come out of the oven and cool off a bit four us to dig in. I definitely recommend it!!
I have baked the crispy pan pizza from King Arthur Flour about 5 times now.  It’s always consistently crispy and delicious. I have struggled making crispy thin crust pizza, but the KAF crispy pan pizza is great.  My only complaint  is that it makes a kind of smaller pizza perfect for my family of 2, but maybe not enough for bigger families
Oh good grief, I’ve made the KAF pizza and it’s amazing!  I don’t have a cast iron pan though so I made it in a stoneware one and it has totally changed how I’ll make pizza from now on. I love that it’s make ahead too. Give it a try!

Michelle, every time you post new pictures of the children, they always look so much more grown than the last and of course, much cuter! Wishing you a fantastic Mother’s Day, such as it is at this time, but you’ll be with your family and I think that’s the most important thing. Be safe and well and all your family also.
I got sourdough going last month and love the King Arthur discard recipes. Before I made the starter, I read to rinse the jar and implements with a baking soda solution. Of course you rinse that off before mixing. I used bread flour at the beginning but now feed with all purpose. I have sourdough discard crumpets for breakfast a couple of time a week, split and toasted.Â
I just jumped into the world of sourdough since I couldn’t find yeast at the store! Good luck! I found heartscontentfarmhouse.com to be a good place for advice.
