The Weekend Dish: 7/15/2017
Hello hello!
A very happy weekend to you! It has rained here nearly alllll week (which I totally don’t mind because I loathe super hot and humid summer weather!), but it’s going to be nice for the next couple of days, which will make for some fun outside time. I’ve already been rocking and rolling in the kitchen the last couple of days, and hope to do maybe one or two more recipes today. Are you baking anything this weekend? Let me know what you’re up to!
As always, you’ll find a recap of what was posted to the site this week, the most shared recipes, my Sunday dinner menu, and recipes I’ve bookmarked from other blogs. Enjoy!

I made your “Better than Box Mix” brownies this weekend for a Wine Tasting Brunch and they were PHENOMENAL! All of the guests had a plate of small bites and were shown how to pair food with wine to enhance the flavor of both. Your brownies paired perfectly with a dark, dry red wine! It enhanced the cocoa flavor in the brownie and was the best bite! I gave so many people your recipe/ blog site! My family knows you are my go-to for everything baking :) Somehow I managed to let them sit out on a wire rack OVERNIGHT wrapped in foil. They were chewy, gooey, decadent and perfect. I will never look elsewhere for a brownie recipe!!
Hi Angela, I’m so happy the brownies were hit, and what a fun event! Thank you for the kind words :)
thank you for all of these links! Refrigerator bread? Nice, like the Sunday dinner recipes and the other links
SO GOOD TO SEE DUKE SMILE. ; Â )
Those marshmallow crunch bars look to die for!! Happy weekend :)
Made banana bread and Rueben balls :)
All of your bookmarked recipes this week contain chocolate or peanut butter. No surprise. :-)
I have been reading recent comments about non blooming hydrangias. I was a gardener till arthritis got in the way but I found if you only trim off dead flowers in the fall, then wait till you see active bud growth in the spring and trim them back no more than a foot to the ground or taller just above a bud. Then shape them up, fertilize and wait for the blooms.
