Friday Things #577

1. Thank you all for your prayers and well wishes as Dominic went into his scans this week. I am so happy to share that all of his scans came back clear, and he remains in remission! We got home at 8pm Wednesday night and at 9am Thursday morning he was on the ice as a fill-in goalie for a 10U hockey camp scrimmage. He never ceases to amaze me 💙

2. Thank you also for all of the messages regarding the loss of my brother-in-law; please know that I read every single one, and your notes and prayers mean so much to our family ❤️
3. We did have a very bright spot over the last couple of weeks – my sister had her first baby, which made me an aunt for the very first time! I can’t even explain how overjoyed all of our kids were at meeting their baby cousin for the first time; Joseph especially couldn’t tear himself away when it was time to leave 💙

4. Last week, the U.S. Open golf tournament was held in Oakmont, PA (just outside of Pittsburgh), and we took the kids there one afternoon. They got to see a lot of the course and even got an autograph from one of their favorite golfers (Viktor Hovland).

5. You know I was so bummed about the canceled Billy Joel concert this summer, but I’m so excited about the upcoming documentary, “And So It Goes”, coming out on Max.
6. What’s your favorite afternoon and/or evening snack? I’ve been craving a big bowl of popcorn.
7. Some good tips if you want to lessen the amount of time you spend on your phone >> I Changed These Settings To Turn My iPhone into a ‘Dumbphone’ and I’m Loving Using it Less
8. A great reflection from a recent James Clear newsletter:
“Win the day and go on your way.
There are always doubts:
- But what if…
- Will I be able to…
- Should I be worried about…
Leave it be. Have the best day you can today. Win the moment in front of you right now.”
9. A couple of months ago, I grabbed a GoMacro bar from the grocery store on a whim because I was starving (the oatmeal chocolate chip version, to be precise), and I loved it. Ever since, I’ve kept a stash in the pantry and always one in my purse; it’s substantial enough to curb my hunger, and I love the ingredients.
10. TGIF! Love when these pups get a fresh groom 😄

Dominic looks AMAZING! So glad to hear all is well! Your other kids are gorgeous too, Joseph is so sweet with the baby.
So happy to hear the good news about Dominic. Congratulations Aunt Michelle and family. Have a wonderful weekend.
