Friday Things
- Joseph has been having all sorts of fun lately and I’m so excited for his first Christmas! His birthday is right around the corner and I just cannot believe it’s been an entire year since he was born. This time last year I was huge, agonizing over packing my hospital bag, and wondering when I would go into labor. It’s all been a crazy blur but the days that have made up this last year have been the best ever.
2. These gourmet marshmallows and toasted marshmallow milkshakes sound so amazing. I want one of those milkshakes right now!
3. Pinterest has announced what they believe the biggest food trends in 2016… what do you think?! I want someone to pack me a super awesome lunch box.
4. Pittsburgh was named Zagat’s top food city of 2015! I love my hometown and am always thrilled when it gets national attention, especially for FOOD! :)
5. Speaking of best food lists, here’s one for The Best Burger in Every State… great to tuck away for your next road trip!
6. Did you see the Netflix teaser for Fuller House? My 11-year-old self can’t wait to see the new Full House spinoff.
7. I found a great new condiment brand that I’m really liking… Sir Kensington’s. I haven’t tried the mayonnaise yet, but I have tried the Dijon mustard, stone ground mustard (I put it on our cheese board for Thanksgiving!), and the “special sauce”, which is basically a fantastic Big Mac-esque sauce.
8. My fantasy football season came to a screeching halt at the hands of my father-in-law in the first round of the playoffs last weekend. Always next year?
9. Since we hit a wall on Blacklist, we were scrambling for a new show to watch and caught Quantico on Hulu. We started thinking it wasn’t very good, then we got hooked, and now we’re back to not digging it so much. Blah.
10. TGIF! These three were ALL begging for crispy fruit snacks my husband was eating, and when I went to take a picture Joseph totally cheesed for the camera. I can’t stop staring at this picture!
I don’t get “Friday Things” emails anymore.
Oh no, that’s so strange! But you get all of the other emails??
Your son’s smile is so precious! That Pinterest post was interesting about the popular food trends. The only one I heard about was the healthy lunches.
Look at that cutie! Happy Holidays!

I started buying Sir Kensington’s ketchup about 2 months ago. I really like it, and I’m a dedicated Heinz Ketchup Pittsburgh girl. However, I have issues with the company and wanted a better non-GMO option without sacrificing flavor. I think the S.K. ketchup is a little more intense flavor than Heinz, but I enjoy that. My husband still prefers Heinz, so I get the Simply Heinz version for him.
That picture of Joseph smiling is too cute!!! :)
I watched 2 episodes of Quantico and couldn’t take it anymore – I’ve been watching Syfy this week but can’t decide if any of the new shows are keepers or not. TV is kind of in a desperate situation – a couple of shows I watch have jumped the shark on me and I’m in a funk over it – I’m with Jess on the jello salad trend…it needs to go away …for good! The rest of the ideas on Pinterest don’t really call out to me – I’ve done the pour-over coffee – that is definitely old school – and it’s okay but not my preferred method – it can be very messy if you make a mistake or have an accident.
Joseph, Einstein and Duke are so adorable together – your hubby had a very captive audience!
What cuties!!!!
Re: Pinterest’s food predictions for 2016…. I’m going to need for jelly salads to not become a thing again. Because gross.
Love all the pictur of Joseph, such a happy little guy!
You should watch Man in the High Tower through Amazon Prime, its an awesome show!
I cannot stop smiling at the picture of the dogs and Joseph! Too sweet for words!
We feel the same way about Quantico – and I gave up on it. If you have never watched Doc Martin, you should check it out on Netflix. It is a British comedy/drama and we LOVE it. The 7th season starts in January, so you have enough time to watch them. He’s a cantankerous genius of a doctor that had to quit his job in London as a surgeon because he developed a phobia about blood. He moves to Port Wenn and finds all kinds of characters there – including a love interest. You will get drawn it very quickly and feel like a member of the community. Try a couple of episodes.
Have a great weekend!
Ugh, Quantico… I’m not sure if it’s the writing or the acting or a combination of the two. It just seems so… CHEESY and LAME. Thanks for the rec!
I’m with you on the Fuller House trailer!!! I saw it on Facebook yesterday and literally screamed out loud. bet I have watched it at least a dozen times in the last 24 hours. Ladies of the 80’s unite! It will be awesome :)
Can’t wait for THE BLACKLIST to come back in January. We started watching LEGENDS with Sean Bean and finished the first season (he’s great, the writing not so much) only to learn that it’s been cancelled just as we began watching the second season. Bummer.
I do like Quantico but it’s not fabulous. Gave you watched The Affair or Scandal? They are both outstanding and constantly keep me interested and on the edge of my seat.
Hi Laura, I watch Scandal, but haven’t seen The Affair, I’ll check it out!
I love Pittsburg!! Like where I live too, but if I didn’t live in the B-Lo, I’d choose Pittsburg for sure. Maybe just have to many medical emergencies, but I just feel like you have good doctors and hospitals there. Love the city. The the restaurants!
Happy Friday! Try Daredevil. My husband and I just finished season 1 on Netflix. It’s very good (and I didn’t think I’d like it).
Every Friday I look forward to seeing what you post and pics of your beautiful baby boy Joseph and your doggies Duke and Einstein. So so adorable ???
OMG I LOVE QUANTICO! I’m more hooked on that show than I am on Scandal, The Blacklist and How to get away with Murder. Used to be a fan of EMPIRE but not anymore. Ugh!
Anyhow..have a wonderful weekend and stay warm. Thank you again for the wonderful pics ???
