Friday Things
1. This sweet boy had a fantastic 4-month checkup this week – our string bean is in the 60th percentile for height and the 20th percentile for weight, even though he sports a pretty serious double chin most days :) He’s rolling onto his side and getting his head and shoulders wayyyyyy off the ground during tummy time, so I’m sure rolling is only a (short!) matter of time.
2. Joseph did another food challenge at the allergist this week and has been cleared of his soy allergy! This is crazy exciting, since there is soy in pretty much EVERYTHING. We’ve had to be so vigilant reading labels and avoiding things like most store-bought breads, chicken/beef broth, bread crumbs, snack foods, restaurant food, etc. In a couple of months, he’ll do cooked egg to see if he can tolerate that (fingers crossed!).
3. This is old news, but did you know you could get unlimited junior Frostys from Wendy’s throughout 2017 for just $2?! I haven’t had one in years and now I’m totally craving one. (But don’t try to convince me to dunk my fries in there – NEVER!)
4. Did you watch the Super Bowl? I fell asleep during the 4th quarter (womp womp), but my goodness, how amazing was Lady Gaga’s halftime show?! One of the best I’ve seen recently!
5. Loving this >> 10 Tips for Cooking All Day Without Making a Mess. They’re actually great tips even if you’re just making one recipe. I’m a big fan of getting everything out and measured before I start, then putting things away/into the sink as I go. It makes the final clean up go so much faster!
6. I have to give a shout out to this alfredo sauce recipe by Chef in Training. I used it last Sunday when I made fettuccine alfredo for my father-in-law’s birthday dinner, and it was the best alfredo sauce recipe I’ve tried to date. It was wonderfully rich and creamy, not runny or clumpy… love, love, loved it!
7. I got my hair cut yesterday for the first time since four days before Dominic was born and it feels ahhhhhh-mazing!
8. I’ve really been making a concerted effort to plan at least three dinners a week (I love to bake but am SO BAD at cooking meals!), and I think my husband might be worried that I have a fever, ha! Tonight is pizza night, mmmm… I have my neapolitan pizza dough in the fridge ready to go!
9. Do you have any baking or cooking plans for Valentine’s Day? Tell me!
10. TGIF! I have you have a wonderful relaxing weekend!
I always love reading through these Friday links!

Where’s your pantry update?! lol I’ve been waiting! I bought some stuff at target this week I think I’m going to start mine this weekend.Â
It’s coming, I promise! It took like 4 trips back and forth to the store, returning and buying different things until I got the right combination of storage options. I just need one more thing and then I’m done!
This was the first I have heard about the unlimited Frosty program. It’s so tempting. As for dunking the fries in it. I have to admit I have done it and it was yummy, but not since they changed the fries and the salt. If you want pizza temptation I highly recommend Blaze Pizza, if you have one nearby that is. I’ve been addicted to their red vine pizza which is what they call their margherita pizza. I’m rather ashamed to admit that I stop and pick one up once a week. As for Valentine’s Day I have yet to see what the fuss is about it. My baking plans, as always, involve making some goodies and bringing them in to my coworkers. This year is brownies, cherry almond streusel bars, turtlenut brownies, and some mini cheesecakes..
I love Frostys but was sad to see in the article you could only get the key tags through the end of January. I’ll just have to keep buying one every so often. I like vanilla better than chocolate and they taste even better after they’ve been in the freezer for about an hour. I like the texture better.
I did not know about the 2017 Frosty program at Wendy’s! Â Thank you . . . I think . . . well, my brain and mouth thank you, but my waistline, not so much ;) Â
After watching GaGa’s workout prep for that halftime show, I now have a whole new respect for her. Â She does have a beautiful voice when she just sings like at the very beginning of the show.
And for Valentine’s Day, I’m thinking about making a batch of these:

Also wondering if I could safely mail them to my Valentines??? Â Any suggestions?
Your boys – all 3 of them – grow more adorable by the week! Â
I remember you said, last Friday, that you would be cheering on the Falcons so I  Imagine you were shocked when you learned what happened in the fourth quarter. I live in New England so needless to say, everyone around here is still on a Super Bowl high. I think the best part was that  TB’s mom was able to be at the game and see that epic comeback.
Such a sweet photo of Dominic. Your little guys’ smiling faces  must bring so many moments of total joy every day.
Have a warm and cozy weekend.
I so look forward to your Friday posts and seeing pix of the kids and pup! I also make it a goal of 3 meals per week and leftovers in between. This week it was chicken pot pie, baked rigatoni ala Julio, empenadas and enchiladas.
Your boys are just the cutest! There should be some cheek squeezing going on. My husband and I had our first date on Valentines day, our wedding anniversary is the 16th. A few weeks back I saw a steak and cheesy potatoes video on facebook that I thought I would try. What man doesn’t love a good steak and potatoes? He loves cheesecake so hopefully I can find a mini recipe to make since we have come off back to back birthday weekends.
I love the Kitchn article on tips to cook without making a mess! I already do a lot of those things, but it is a terrific compilation of suggestions. When my husband and I first met, this was one of the things about me that (apparently) really impressed him–I can cook up a storm and not leave a gigantic mess behind. Ha! Who’d have thought that would make an impression. Glad it did, though! :)Â
Lovely post, I love these chatty style posts :)
