Friday Things #549

1. Last Friday, the kids were off school, and it was a beautiful day, so we drove up to my brother-in-law’s farm. The kids picked some turnips and radishes and got to ride in the big tractor :)
2. Next week, Dominic and I will head back to New York for his quarterly scans, which always seem to creep up so quickly. Please send prayers and good thoughts his way for clean scans and continued remission 🙏🏻
3. What is on your holiday baking list? I’m already excited to make mine and start some festive baking!
4. My husband and I have talked about the train trips through Canada for yearsssss; it looks amazing!
5. A great reminder!! >> “When you think you are too old to do something new remember you will never be younger than you are right now.”
6. I published my baking, cooking, and foodie gift guide earlier this week; I hope you find some good gift ideas or things to add to your own wish list! Keep an eye out this weekend as I finish up my kids gift guide, home gift guide, and guides for her and him.
7. From a recent James Clear newsletter and gosh, isn’t it the truth?!
Poet and novelist Ben Okri on the power of the mind:
“Beware the stories you read or tell; subtly, at night, beneath the waters of consciousness, they are altering your world.” Source: A Way of Being Free
8. I loved this article >> “Theme” Every Work Day for a More Productive Week … and I couldn’t help but think of my grandma and how she mastered this in running her home, as she would dedicate certain days of the week to different tasks around the house. She was a brilliant lady!
9. We’ve been jumping around on shows this week. We haven’t started Yellowstone yet because we wanted to have at least a couple of episodes to watch at once. We started watching The Penguin, but neither of us really liked it very much. Last night, we began Cardinal (Hulu), and so far, so good!
10. TGIF! I love when these pups snuggle!

Prayers for Dominic for clear scans and continued remission this upcoming week and safe travels to New York.
Prayers for everyone. Love your pups.

Praying for Dominic daily and for good news next week. Thank you for that train across Canada link. So gorgeous and I am definitely adding that to my bucket list. We are going to be a little adventurous this Thanksgiving and ordering the fried turkey from Popeye’s. It is more expensive than cooking one yourself, but I’ve heard good reviews and I am looking forward to it. Thank you for all of your hard work putting this blog together each week Michelle! We appreciate you and love your family stories and great recipes. Beautiful pictures of the kids and pups!!!
Prayers for Dominic and his upcoming scans! Always a bit stressful thinking about that time coming up again. Praying for peace for your heart as well!
I’ll keep Dominic in my prayers
What is going on with Duke?!
I keep your family in my daily prayers & thoughts. God keep blessing you.
Hugs!
Betsy
Prayers for good news and blessings to your wonderful family.
I’m curious about the leg brace on your fur baby. I have a 13 year old lab who along with normal elderly stuff cannot put weight on her left hind leg. 3 prescriptions, 2 supplements and 133.00 monthly shot. In your dog mother opinion, Do you recommend the brace and where did you get it?
Prayers for Dominic
Positive and healthy thoughts and prayers for Dominic next week.
Thoughts and prayers to your brave boy Dominic. We took the train from Montreal to Quebec City many years ago when our children were young. It was great fun. My husband loves train trips and has always wanted to cross Canada by train.
I’ll be thinking of Dominic next week. Safe travels!
What a PERFECT photo of your kids on your brother’s farm!
Prayers to Dominic & you for a great outcome 🙏💕
You have a beautiful family. Enjoy reading your column and making the recipes.
I will keep you all in my prayers, especially Dominic a prayer to Our Lady of Lourdes.

Continued DAILY prayers for Dominic and your entire family! Thank you for your wonderful recipes and excellent gift guides. YOU ARE AMAZING! Sending lots of positive energy your way!
I didn’t like Penguin and only watched the first episode. Watched the Lioness, lots of nudity in it. The Silo should be back on today. Love your dogs.
