Friday Things #507

1. Today, Joseph turns NINE! My goodness, how the time has flown! It has been such a joy being his mom and watching him grow up into a big kid. He is obsessed with all sports, loves trivia and geography, is a big reader, and is still our most serious kid, lives for following the rules, and is so incredibly thoughtful. I can’t wait to see how much he grows, changes, and learns this year 💙
2. And the cherry on top? There is a snow day today that was announced last night, so everyone has been VERY excited!
3. Next week, Dominic and I will be headed to New York for a big set of scans, a bone marrow biopsy, and his next neuroblastoma vaccine injection. We are praying everything is still clear and that he remains in remission 🙏🏻

4. I finally replaced our wool dryer balls this week; my mom bought me a set for Christmas yearsssss ago and I’ve never used dryer sheets since, I swear by them! Over the years though, half of them got snatched up by opportunistic pups and the ones that were left had start to pill and loosen up, so I got a fresh set. I highly, highly recommend them!
5. Do you have a nighttime routine that you swear by? I love to hear how other people structure their mornings, evenings, and days.

6. We are making our favorite rice krispie treats today; Joseph requests them every year to eat on his birthday. Would be a great snow day treat if you’re looking for something easy to make! :) Classic no bake cookies are also a great option to make with kiddos that may be home from school today.
7. Speaking of snow days, I do appreciate the efficiency that comes with receiving texts from the school when there is a delay or closure, but boy, I feel like my kids are missing out on having to sit by the radio (or watch a scroll on the bottom of the TV) and wait to see if your school got called for a delay or cancellation. The nail-biting anticipation was real!
8. Is your team still standing in the playoffs? Our Steelers lost, but Joseph is excited to cheer for some other teams, ha!
9. We’ve been watching Poker Face (on Peacock); it’s kind of quirky with Fargo vibes, but not as dark… we’re enjoying it!
10. TGIF! Wishing you the coziest weekend!

Praying for good results for Dominic following his scans. Thinking of you all x
Your kids are adorable! Joseph sounds rather like me in some of his qualities. I hope he had a wonderful birthday! I hope everything goes well for Dominic.
I have used dryer balls for about 5 or 6 years. I got them at Saje Wellness in a kit with essential oil. I’ve never liked dryer sheets and I hang a lot of my clothes but when I do dry sheets and towels in the dryer, I love the balls.
My nighttime routine has always been to read when I get into bed (plus or minus having a bath beforehand). Reading takes me to another place and sends me into slumberland. I’ve been doing this since I was a kid and I’m 70 now.
Happy Birthday sweet Joseph. 😊🎂❤ Continued prayers for Dominic and family. Love you guys.
Happy birthday to Joseph! What luck! A birthday AND a snow day. Continued prayers for Dominic and your family. I hope the trip goes well and you get good news. I just might try the dryer balls!
Happy Birthday to Joseph and we will be praying for Dominic’s upcoming appointment for continued clear readings and remission. Hope the kids enjoy the snow.
Thank you for all the wonderful recipes. The next recipe I want to try is the ciabatta bread.
I have never heard of wool dryer balls. I will have to check that out.
Happy Birthday to Joseph!!! Enjoy your special day!! Sending good wishes and prayers to Dominic and your family.🙏💙. It’s very cold here in NY, 17 degrees. I will be making ceci soup today. Tomorrow my son and daughter in law are coming for baked ziti and eggplant parm. Plenty of leftovers for them to take home. Stay warm and safe everyone.❄⛄🌨
Happy 9th birthday joseph! Continued prayers for Dominic that all is clear. You have a beautiful family. God bless
Happy Birthday Joseph! Praying for all of you. Stay warm and cozy this weekend.
It might sound corny, but I confess to being a corny old lady! My bedtime routine consists of prayer.i always thank God for the blessings He’s bestowed upon me; namely, my precious son and daughter. They are both grown now, yet continue to support and help me in my chronic illnesses. I am so grateful for Rob and Patty!
Happy Birthday to Joseph! I am praying that all goes well for you and Dominic. Many blessings to all of you.
Joseph is a handsome young man with lots of wonderful qualities that are clearly the result of excellent parenting! Hope he has an amazing birthday. Praying for Dominic to get good results next week. Hooray for a snow day and an unexpected day off of school. I am a grandmother and I still have trouble sleeping when snow is expected, I get up to keep checking the window. ha! I’m a Steelers fan too. Now I am rooting for the Detroit Lions to go all the way and win the Super Bowl. They are my daughter-in-love’s team. Have a wonderful weekend! I love following your family!
Nine what a fantastic age esp for boys, raised two of them, their understanding of life and their experiences grow so much. Many fond memories of those days.
You will be in my prayers next week for no complications or side effects and good reports
Be safe💕💕
Happy Birthday Joseph! My prayers will be you and Dominic that ever goes well and all is good. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻.
My Tampa Bay Bucs are in the playoffs playing the Lions this weekend. Hope they win. Happy Weekend!

I pray every night for Dominic to get good results. And a great outcome for all of your family. Joseph looks so much older all of a sudden.
Happy Birthday, Joseph! All the best for continued remission for Dominic! 🙏🏾
One time, it snowed and my parents kept us home not realizing school wasn’t canceled. Our power had went out so we spent the day snuggled up watching TV.
Prayers for you and Dominic this week .
I switched to dryer balls 8 years ago and never went back . I love them with Meyers Dryer Sheets . My original 5 have worn to half their size so I need to replace them also . I did add 3 more 2 years ago , but I like having 8 balls. They love to get lost in sleeves !
