Friday Things
1. How was your Halloween? Joseph and Dominic got dressed up as pirates, and my husband built them a pirate ship out of a massive Amazon box :)
Joseph had so much fun, and Dominic did great until he decided he was done with pictures being taken, ha! (For more pictures, check out my post on Instagram!)
2. I saw Jessica mention this earlier in the week… have you heard of December Daily? I’ve thought about doing photo yearbooks in the past, but love this idea since I love the holidays so much, although I have never scrapbooked in my life and I am SO not creative!
3. Did you hear that Hersheys is coming out with a new candy bar?! It’s called Hersheys Gold and is a caramelized cream bar with peanuts and pretzels and my goodness does it sound good! It’s slated to be in stores on December 1st!
4. Do you shop the Sephora VIB sale? I typically add things to my loves list and hoard gift cards until the big sale, then go a little crazy. On my shopping list right now:
Amika Un.Done Texture Spray / Make Up For Ever Nude Eye Palette / Bite Amuse Bouche Liquified Lipstick / NARS Eyeshadow Base
Are there any products you totally love that you’d recommend??
5. It’s my third time around, and I love all of this >> Ten Things I Always Tell Pregnant Women
6. I can’t believe that Thanksgiving is only a few weeks away! If you’re planning on baking pies, don’t forget to check out my favorite pie crust recipe, with a different ingredient that sounds crazy but totally WORKS!
7. Such an awesome resource! >> 11 Charts Everyone Who Ever Plans on Baking Needs to Pin
8. Adding this babka au chocolat brioche to my holiday baking list, because I can’t quit babkas during December!
9. After seeing so many crazy good reviews, my husband and I started to watch Bloodline last week and… we didn’t even last one episode, womp womp. I assume it gets way better? I mean, it must! But it was just soooo slowwwwww and we got totally bored with it.
10. TGIF! Have a relaxing weekend!
I tried to watch Bloodline when it was just at season 1… it never got better. I sat through the whole first season, and regretted it.
Hi Michelle, a Netflix show you might want to check out is Harlen Cobin’s The Five. I love his books so even though I was confused for the first two episodes I kept on watching. Definitely worth it! Congrats to you all on the new baby! I’m very happy for you!
Stick with Bloodline. You won’t be disappointed!
The beginning IS a little slow (and kind of confusing, I thought) but it is one of the best shows I’ve ever seen!
Hi Michelle,
As creative as you are in your cooking, I’m sure you would be awesome at a photo book too. I enjoy making photo books for my travels and I have a granddaughter turning 1 on December 30th. I am surprising her parents with an ABC photo book, it is really for them so it incorporate a lot of photo’s. (They have only printed a few and are relying on them staying in Google photo’s, which I have my doubts long term).
I would be happy to add you as a person who can review my book so you can get some idea’s.. Just let me know and I’ll add your email to it. It would be coming from mixbook (one of my favorite companies for this). I’ve done books in various places.
Thanks for all your recipes.
Kathy, in the south hills of Pittsburgh
Cute piratesÂ
Hiya, congrats on the baby girl! How lucky will she be to have two big brothers:)Â
FYI, skip Bloodline and watch Stranger Things. It’s awesome! Not overly scary but great suspense with a fun 80’s twist! Love it and I am totally going to try the babka!Â
Have a great weekend!
PegÂ
I felt the same way about Bloodlines. It was so slow to start, but got much better. Season 2 started slow, too. We’re getting ready to end Season 3 now!
Friday Things is my favorite post of the week! Nice cosmetic finds. You should check out The Gilded Girl on Butler Street in Pittsburgh. Liz, the proprietor, is a good friend of mine from college. She has amazing taste and the store is just lovely with classes and other fun stuff.
Those pirates are too darn cute! I have been following your website for quite a while, (and CONGRATS by the way on the soon-to-be new addition!) Thank you so much for what you do for the rest of us–bring smiles to our faces everyday. You open up and share your family with us plus your creativity and delicious recipes. I wish I could be as talented and accomplished as you!
AW! I love seeing all the kids dressed up for Halloween, it’s my favorite part. I love the boat too – how cute!
The boys looks so cute. My niece had her baby with a difficult pregnancy this time. Thankfully her doctor had sent her to a much larger hospital and mother and baby are doing alright now. Mom had to have lots of blood.
Those are the cutest pirates ever!! My youngest grandson hated getting his picture taken when he was real young. (well, at 4 1/2 he still does’t want to stand still..ha) Love that close up of Duke. Oh, he is such a beautiful dog!
My favorite eye shadow primer is L’Oreal’s Decrease. I’ve tried many and it’s the best!
Yea! I am looking for him too! Where is duke end capper? Miss him!
Hi Lisa, So sorry for some reason the photo didn’t appear, but I fixed it and he’s there now!
Those two are the cutest pirates ever!!!!😊😊😊
Hello! Happy Friday. I love you “Friday Things” email. I am concerned that there wasn’t a picture of Duke. He’s the highlight of the email for me. :) Is he doing ok?
Hi Nora, He’s okay! For some reason the photo didn’t display initially, but I fixed it and he’s there now :)
Where is Duke today???
Ahhh for some reason the photo didn’t appear, fixed it!
Much better! Â Thanks…I was worried about him. Â But, I know that you would have said if something was wrong! Â :-)
Michelle, have you ever watched ” Good Behavior ” with Michelle Dockery( from Downton Abbey) ? Second season is airing on TNT right now, so first season might be streaming somewhere. Really good, gets you interested from the very first few minutes!! Check it out.Â
Hi Linda, I haven’t seen that, I’ll check it out. Thanks for the recommendation!
