The Weekend Dish: 11/4/2017
Happy November weekend to you!
In what feels like nearly a month, we are all healthy, hallelujah! I don’t have anything terribly exciting planned for the weekend – regular chores and house stuff – BUT! I do plan on starting to think about my Thanksgiving plan… recipes, menu, time, etc. Are you hosting this year or going somewhere? I’d love to hear about your must-have Thanksgiving dishes, or if you have any requests! Share in the comments below :)
As always, you’ll find a recap of what was posted to the site this week, the most shared recipes, my Sunday dinner menu, and recipes I’ve bookmarked from other blogs. Enjoy!

Loving this caramel pear pie for a Thanksgiving alternative to traditional apple. It looks amazing!!
I’m planning on making this caramelized onion dip as an appetizer for Sunday and I cannot wait… I’ve had it bookmarked since the day Lindsay posted it… pass me all the chips, please!
Another great Thanksgiving dessert option >> carrot cake cookies with cream cheese frosting
Need this creamed corn on one of my holiday menus!
No-Bake Pumpkin Mascarpone Cheesecake because a no-bake dessert for Thanksgiving is genius.
Have a delicious weekend!
The caramelized onion dip looks wonderful. Â I caramelized onions for French onion soup and now I’m looking for more ways to use them. Â
Thanks for linking to my pumpkin mascarpone cheesecake. It’s one of my favorite pumpkin desserts because the it’s so light and fluffy and the pumpkin flavor is unreal!
My must haves on thanksgiving day are whipped potatoes, cornbread stuffing, homemade cranberry sauce and a variety of pies for dessert! Since I’m the pie baker it’s limited only to my imagination 🦃🦃
Your Sunday dinner menu looks fabulous.  I’d love to have every single one of those recipes it possible.  Thanks! Â
Hi Marla, Thanks! My father-in-law is making the tortellini, but this is the recipe I have (it’s delicious!):

Love your blog, and I read it every time it come to my inbox. I love that I can read it through my email. Most of my baking repertoire comes from your recipes.
Son and daughter are coming for Thanksgiving and I’m having just the basics we all love and wait for: roasted turkey (no fancy method), sausage stuffing (a bowl of gluten free for my daughter), mashed potatoes, a veggie, and fresh cherry pie. I know this sounds unusual, but we are passionate about fresh Door County cherries—it’s where I grew up.
I noticed you’re  making tortellini with cream sauce. In the fall I have a bounty of beautiful sage in my herb garden so I always want to find uses for it. Add fresh sage to that cream sauce; it’s wonderful.
Thank you for the kind words Liz :) Your meal sounds fabulous!! And I’m not a pumpkin pie fan, so I would definitely welcome your cherry pie!
