Cookies for the Super Bowl

Because the Steelers are headed to their 3rd Super Bowl in six years…
Because I bleed Black and Gold…
And because I love cookies…
Dessert first. I will be sharing a lot of great Super Bowl party menu items over the next two weeks, but first let’s do cookies. Here are three football-themed cookies that would be perfect to serve at your Super Bowl party:

1. Football Sugar Cookies
A football cookie cutter is used to make these basic football sugar cookies. Decorate them with your team’s colors!
2. Pittsburgh Steelers Logo Cookies
I bought a Steelers cookie mold on eBay a few years ago, which came in handy for these logo cookies. I used royal icing for everything except for ‘Steelers’ which I pressed out of black fondant.
3. Pittsburgh Steelers Jersey Cookies
I used a jersey cookie cutter to make these cookies and customize them with Steelers colors and player names and numbers.
Steelers vs. Packers in two weeks…
HERE WE GO, STEELERS, HERE WE GO!!

U just gave me the best idea for my super bowl party. My godson Nick and my friend Faith want me to bake some goodies so I am totally doing this. U are a true fan. I am not happy if they win cuz not a huge fan of either team but u have to do what u havr. Get my best ideas from u. Lol happy baking. I want and need him to mess with me lol

Ha! This made me laugh. I love it! Being over the other side of the pond I’ll have no cause for making Superbowl cookies but I love your devotion!

I couldn’t wait to post to you with the STEELERS going to the SUPER BOWL! The cookies look great and the footballs look more my ability at best. I had thought about cookie dough thru a ricer somehow to make Troy’s hair…naaa.
(I am going to mention here in time to research if needed that City Chicken will be on my menu.I was trying to think of foods that say Pittsburgh area to me.That is a regional food and perfect for a party. Meat on a stick! My family always uses veal and pork.)

I love your cookies! They are fantastic! I am so excited we’re going to the Super Bowl again!

I must tell you (because I love your post) ((and because I’m not ashamed of making a fool of myself!)), my twin sister is SO into the Steelers (((and I’m a gay boy into baking… ya think something went wrong?!?))) and every time she talks about the Steelers I have to roll my eyes. I am so NOT into football, so much so that when I first began reading your post and saw “Pittsburgh Steelers Jersey Cookies” I thought to myself – “How silly! Pittsburgh is in PA, not NJ!”
Anyway, now that I got that off my chest, just wanted you to know how great your post is… you are very creative and inspiring.

I was so hoping the Bears would make it to the Super Bowl, I was dying to make some Chicago Bears cookies. Guess it will just be footballs this year! Your cookies are adorable, love them!

Nothing against you (I still LOVE your baking!) but I hate the Steelers
I think it stems from my hatred of Pitt college basketball. But the cookies look great
Reply
I resisting the urge to hurl Steelers insults… but you DID beat the Jets, and that was appreciated. The Pats are our team… you can understand our pain
But you have to respect those who bleed the colors (blue, red and silver; black and gold respectively…) so I say a whole-hearted congratulations, and I love your dessert ideas! I would just change the color scheme… for next year

Love your sit, but c’mon, how ’bout my Packers, eh?

We’re not huge football fans, but if we were, this is our team of choice this year! I’m actually an Indiana girl, so I love me my Colts!
But since the hubster hails from PA, the Steelers are always my second choice!

I made the jersey and football cookies for the playoff game against the Ravens! They got GREAT reviews. Some people actually didn’t want to eat they because they were so pretty!
I usually do my menu based on the city where the game is being played. It usually gives you a new dish and makes you feel like you are there! LOL! My favorite was Miami, we had mojitos and cuban sandwiches……..and I found GREAT recipes for both! This year, of course, will be Tex Mex fo Dallas!
GO STEELERS!
