Friday Things #597

1. After watching her brothers for years, Isabelle asked over the summer if she could try hockey, so here we go! We already got the pink stick tape ;-)
2. Dominic finished up his cycle of immunotherapy on Saturday evening, and we were home nice and early Sunday morning. He bounced back pretty quickly and was back at school on Monday (though pretty tired that evening!). Very grateful for a smooth treatment and an easy transition back to regular life.
3. While we were at the hospital, I finished reading Winter Garden and OH MY GOODNESS, what a phenomenal book. Highly recommend! I just started The Calamity Club, but I’m only one chapter in so far!
4. “Your life is simply your days, accumulated. Did today’s habits contribute to the life you want to build?” -James Clear
5. Has anyone else been inundated with the Facebook and Instagram videos that show, for instance, “Christmas Eve 1985” or “December 1988”? They are so nostalgic, and I can almost FEEL being back there. They are obviously made with AI, but I can’t stop watching every time one pops up on my feed; for me, the 80s and 90s were just so special.
6. Oh my gosh, a bus driver for dogs – this is the sweetest thing!
7. “We are all connected. The way you choose to live ripples into the future. Your decisions today can be a blessing or a curse for your descendants. Strive to live in such a way that the world will gain from your time here.” -James Clear
8. This story about a neighborhood potato party reminded me of a get-together once of my oldest friends had, gosh, maybe 15 years ago. She invited a few of us over to her house for a “dip party”. The premise was simple – everyone brought their favorite dip along with the recipe (this party was the source of the buffalo chicken dip and Reuben dip!). We sampled everything and left with new favorite recipes. It’s such a wonderful idea, and you could substitute dip with potato or literally anything else!
9. We’ve been watching Taken, which is about 10 years old, but very, very good! Have you watched anything good lately?
10. TGIF! Judith wishes you a wonderful weekend!
