Classic Baby Shower Cookies

I whipped up some cookies for a baby shower this week, and since a few of them are new designs, I wanted to share them with you! These were done for a fairly typical baby shower (more traditional than the last baby shower set I did – remember the Rock n’ Roll Onesies?) and will be given as the favors. The hostess wanted typical baby-type cookies, such as onesies and a rocking horse, and I also did rubber duckies and a baby carriage. The theme was neutral, with pastel colors, so I incorporated that into the cookies, using yellows, greens, pinks and purples.
I have done traditional onesie cookies before, and I think they are one of my favorite cookies to decorate. Maybe it’s the thought of chubby little legs hanging out of the bottom? :) I have to say, though, that I fell in love with all of the others I made this time around. The detail on the baby carriage and rocking horse I especially loved working on. And that rubber ducky is just so darn cute!

How to Decorate Cookies with Royal Icing Tutorial

Those are PRECIOUS!!
These cookies are adorable. They would make great party favors. You can wrap them in plastic wrap and tie them with a personalized ribbon.
Um, ok, next time I have a baby, will you come and do my baby shower? :)
Thank you, Michelle! Beautiful effect…I’m going to check out that tut now…thanks much.
Are they fondant-topped? Or…how did you ice them?
Hi Melanie,
The cookies aren’t topped with fondant; they are decorated using royal icing. I did a tutorial last summer about how to decorate cookies this way, you can check it out here: https://www.browneyedbaker.com/2009/06/04/how-to-decorate-cookies-with-royal-icing/
