Friday Things #508
1. Isabelle was SO excited to celebrate the 100th day of school this week by dressing like a 100-year-old 😂
2. After we finished off the last of the rice krispie treats from Joseph’s birthday last week, another batch was promptly requested, and I was happy to oblige! It’s an all-time favorite treat at this house!
3. I finished Before We Were Yours earlier this week and absolutely LOVED it. Could not put it down, an easy five stars. I’ve moved on to Beach Read; I’m just getting started with it.
4. Have you ever made a temperature blanket? I first heard about this probably 15 years ago and still haven’t done it! The idea is that you assign a certain color to a temperature range, and then you crochet or knit one row in the corresponding color for that day’s temperature, and at the end of the year, you have a blanket and a visual representation of what the weather was like. I may start one and go back and look up the temps for January!
5. SO excited to hear that Billy Joel has a new single coming out! Easily my favorite artist; I last saw him in concert when I was pregnant with Dominic. I’m convinced that’s why he likes it when I put on his music in the car!
6. I’ve been having some issues with the shortcut to The Weekend Dish (as well as a couple of others) and I know a few people have reached out asking how to access the posts; the easiest way to see it is to bookmark the following page and check back on Saturdays: https://www.browneyedbaker.com/the-weekend-dish/ (that will show all weekend dish posts) or to sign up for my newsletter; you will receive it in your inbox every Saturday. You can sign up here >> https://www.browneyedbaker.com/instant-updates/. I apologize for the inconvenience!
7. Really loving this list, full of useful nuggets >> The Ten Most Important Time Management Principles I’ve Learned (and Used)
8. What’s your favorite nighttime snack? Something sweet, popcorn, a bowl of cereal, something else?
9. TV talk… we finished Poker Face (can’t wait for the next season!) and just started Blue Lights (on BritBox). We’ve watched one episode so far and really liked it.
10. TGIF! I hope you have a cozy weekend!
Isabelle is adorable dressed as a 100-year-old lady!!!
I saw you were reading Beach Read — have you read any of her other books? People You Meet on Vacation is my favorite I think. I also believe Emily Henry has a new book coming out this year.
I haven’t read that one yet! I have read Book Lovers and Happy Place, loved them both! I’ll keep an eye out for the new one :)
Isabelle looks adorable, what a wonderful idea. Hope things went well with Dominic. If you like historical fiction, I highly recommend any of Marie Benedict’s books. I’ve read most of them and have enjoyed them all.
What a great costume on Isabelle, bet she had a blast at school. Thanks for sharing and for the laugh. As far as nighttime snack, I love a cup of hot tea along with a couple of cookies or a good piece of dark chocolate.
Have a great weekend and Go Chiefs!
Isabel is a darling 100! And those puppies! For snacks depending on the mood but if sweet and really like chocolate covered cinnamon bears and for savory have been leaning towards white cheddar popcorn. Home-baked gotta go with the oatmeal chocolate chip cookies because oatmeal=healthy!.😂Hope everything went well with Dominic this week. Thanks for starting my day with a smile! Good next reads- Lincoln Highway- and if you haven’t read it, Lessons in Chemistry was a gem.
I read Lessons in Chemistry last year and loved it! I have Lincoln Highway on my list to read this year! Love your snacks :)
Hello Michelle! We always trust your tv recommends! We are watching all of the Harlan Coban series on Netflix. We’ve watched Fool Me Once, The Stranger and Safe. There is a ranking of them on Netflix. Safe was ranked number one with Fool Me Once a close second. Keep those recommendations coming!
Love all of Harlan Coben’s as well.
Isabelle looks great! Hope all is well with your boys. If you haven’t tried Criminal Record it is also a great British crime show!
Happy weekend!
We haven’t seen that one, will check it out, thank you!
Agree!
ISABELLE, YOU LOOK GRRRRREAT😂
AND… THOSE TWO GORGEOUS DOGGIES… WHAT A TENDER MOMENT…..
HAVE A BLESSED WEEKEND Y’ALL!
Great costume Isabelle!
P.s. thank you for the link to the Weekend Dish. I’d assumed you were no longer doing it (to be understood that you could use a little break😊). It is not appearing on your drop down menu any longer.
For some great temperature blanket ideas, check out tlycblog.com She has some amazing temperature blankets…very unique and amazing color choices!
Thank you, will check it out!
Isabelle looks so cute glad that everyone appears to be well. Have you watched “Saved” on Hulu good show. Have a Blessed Weekend.😊
We haven’t seen that one, I’ll check it out!
Isabelle looks adorable. I love the hair😄.
It’s always good to see pictures of your dogs, too.
My daughter and I make your Rice Krispies bars a lot. We always get great compliments on their taste.
Have a great weekend.
This makes me so happy, thrilled you love the rice krispie treats!
Just wondering if you’ve seen Ted Lasso on Apple TV? It’s a wonderful show and everyone I’ve asked who has seen it loves it also and has already watched it multiple times. The cast is amazing!
I haven’t, we don’t have Apple TV!
I LOVED Poker Face, too! Also just caught Only Murders in the Building on network TV and really enjoyed that.
Oooh that’s a good one too!!
Oh My Goodness, Elizabeth looks so cute in her 100th day of school outfit! That is precious beyond words. Love love love it!
I am happy to see you are still doing the “Weekend Dish”. I have missed it. Thank you! I ordered “Before we were yours” and it is arriving today. Can’t wait to get started on it. That temperature blanket is such a cute, creative idea too! Blessings to all!
I hope you enjoy the book as much as I did!
