Friday Things #530

1. This week was a whirlwind with our trip to New York, which included VERY early mornings and days jam-packed with scans and appointments. We don’t have results to share yet, but thank you as always for the extra prayers and good thoughts sent his way!
2. Dominic brought along a buddy for this trip :) Since school is out, he and Isabelle both REALLY wanted her to tag along, and she loved her little two-day adventure with us!

3. Joseph stayed home with my husband, and they had a ton of fun going on bike rides, hitting the batting cages, and hanging out together. But nothing is better than all five of us home under one roof!

4. The kids enjoyed some pool time with friends yesterday, and we are looking forward to lots of slow summer days coming up with nothing on the schedule.
5. Really loved this article >> If You Want to Develop Self-Worth, Do Things That Give You Self-Worth
6. Have you made any pickles yet this summer? If you haven’t tried it yet, you have to make the refrigerator bread and butter pickles; my absolute favorite summer pickles!
7. I’m still making my way through American Dirt; going much more slowly than when I flew through all of Abby Jimenez’s books, but still feel like I can’t quit on a book.
8. We started watching Mare of Easttown (on Max) this week; we’ve seen two episodes and it’s REALLY good. Though I’m always disappointed when I see a show only has one season!
9. From this week’s James Clear newsletter:
“Make a mistake? Release the guilt, remember the lesson.”
10. TGIF! When Judith is ready to eat, she’s READY…

Your refrigerator bread and butter pickles are the best! I made them last summer for the first time and couldn’t stop making them throughout the summer.
Sending prayers for great test results!
Every year I visit a friend at a lake and we make dill pickles usually at the beginning of August. One year we made 100 jars.
A friend was just telling me yesterday about American Dirt… Her book club is reading it. Agreed that Mare of Easttown is fabulous. I just finished Defending Jacob on Apple TV, which was very good and I’m making my way through Presumed Innocent as episodes drop. Both very good.
Continued prayers and good wishes for Dominic. 🙏We enjoy Mare of Easttown. Have a happy July 4th!! ❤💙
Continued prayers for Dominic! Praying he will get the all clear on the scans this week.
Happy to hear from you today! Praying for good results for Dominic every single day.
I have made your refrigerator bread and butter pickles in the past and they are delicious. I discovered they are so, so good on a hamburger. I had never had anything but dill pickles on hamburgers before. My sister and I were in Pella, Iowa for their Spring tulip festival one year and one of the restaurants we had lunch at served their burgers with bread and butter pickles. Fantastic!!!
