Friday Things #533

1. It may be scorching outside, but I always have to bundle up when we’re at the ice rink!
2. Everyone looooooves a good Judith snuggle on the couch :)

3. Has anyone used Merit cosmetics? I’m starting to run out of a few things, and I’ve loved using a single line of products in the past (does anyone else remember when Katie Holmes was a Bobbi Brown spokesperson probably 10 years ago and they would do different “looks” on her? I used to follow those tutorials exactly!). I was looking into Merit and would love to hear if anyone here has used it and your thoughts!
4. Did you snag any Prime deals this week? I grabbed a couple new Apple watch bands that were on sale (ones for “nicer” outfits, like this and this) and then a pack of sports bands, as well. I also grabbed these little crochet kits for the kids because they were on sale and the boys have been asking for probably over a year to learn how “to yarn”, as they call it, and when I showed these to them, they all wanted to try!
5. Love this >> Care Packages Aren’t Just for Kids
6. Yes! I’ve basically been eating my own version of a lunchable for the past couple of weeks for lunch >> When It’s This Hot Out, Eat Like a Toddler
7. And on that note, I love that my no-bake cookies have been so consistently popular this summer. Such a great dessert option when you don’t want to turn on the oven!
8. A great nugget from a recent James Clear newsletter:
“One of the great mistakes in life is suffering for years because you didn’t want to feel foolish for five minutes.
- You don’t want to apologize, so you let a relationship deteriorate.
- You’re scared of the sting of rejection, so you don’t ask for what you want.
- You fear people will say your idea is dumb, so you never start the business.
Nobody likes feeling foolish, but the feeling fades quickly. The willingness to endure five minutes of discomfort turns out to be a meaningful dividing line in life.”
9. We finished both seasons of Condor (MGM+) and LOVED it! Now watching some more episodes of Mayor of Kingstown and DI Ray.
10. TGIF! This guy may be 11, but he still LOVES a good walk!

What a cute photo of you and your daughter, Isabelle; except for the hair color, sge is your spitting image. (What a strange phrase, now that I think about it😂)
We really enjoy your no bake cookies, so delicious and easy.
Enjoy the weekend.
Hi Michelle:
I have been using a few items from Merit Cosmetics for about a year now and I really like the products. I have a few matte lipsticks which I love. The colors aren’t overpowering, they last and are very comfortable. I also have the face oil that I use daily and am really enjoying, and lastly, the foundation stick which goes on like silk and lasts all day.
I just purchased from Merit, and so far, I really like it! I got a lipstick in a perfect color and, of course, their blush. I decided to try a creamy blush instead of powder, and I’ve seen a lot about their blush lately. I do like it a lot, it gives a sunkissed look, and it’s really sheer. I haven’t used cream blush since I was a teenager and managed to make myself look like a clown, so this was a whole new world! I did manage to use too much the first time, but now I’m much better. It works with just fingers or a brush.
I did watch the video that was mentioned below, and I had no issues with customer service (I didn’t need it) and shipping was quick. I do have to say, as a freelance social media manager, social is often outsourced and is not a great way to get customer service help.
To help make a decision, watch Wayne Goss’ YouTube video: Companies I Will Never Buy From Again: Merit Beauty.
Could you share some of your snack plates? Would love to try this and just need some ideas. Thanks!
