Friday Things #557

1. Joseph turned TEN last weekend! I can’t believe how time flies… just yesterday, I had three little babes running and crawling around all day, and now they’re all off at school, becoming their own little people. I love each stage, but gosh it just all goes so fast.
2. What are your favorite homemade snacks to have on hand at home? Working on coming up with a list of things to make/keep stocked!
3. Winter is such a great time to pick up a cozy hobby and I love this list >> 25 Hobbies You Can Start at Home Today
4. Does anyone have a good recommendation for no-show socks? I had found some that I thought were PERFECT years ago (by Zella, I bought them at Nordstrom), but when I needed new ones, they weren’t the same. I have tried so many different brands and I’m not sure if it’s because I have small feet (I wear a 6 or 6.5), but they all come so high up the back of my heel and bunch, not at all comfortable. I’d love to hear if you have some that work great for you!
5. I loved reading this story so, so much >> The Traveling Grannies (two senior best friends went around the world in 80 days)
6. It was bitterly cold here this week (like pretty much everywhere!) and it was perfect weather for a big pot of chicken and dumplings or beef stew.
7. A ranking of Girl Scout cookies >> Which are your favorites? We’re a Samoas house here!
8. I enjoyed reading through these >> 10 Life Hacks
9. Who are you cheering for in the AFC and NFC championship games this weekend? We’re rooting for the Bills!
10. TGIF! A little Judith selfie for the weekend…

Happy be-lated birthday sweet Joseph. I still remember when you were first born. What a lovely young man you’re growing in to be (right before our eyes).🥳🎂🎈
Have you ever tried Sheec socks? They are my go tos and they run a lot of sales!
Happy Saturday! I love the Gonii No Show Socks from Amazon. They are very long lasting and have a little bit of cushion. I am a size 7 and have no problems with them bunching at the heel. I think they are supposed to be a knock-off of the Bombas. I just now opened a box of Thin Mints from last year that were in the freezer. Sooo delicious! Have a great weekend! :)
Hi Michelle. I love feetures. I have had mine for years and they fit snug which really helps tired feet. Love love love them.
Bombas, no-show cushioned socks.
They come in a smaller size which might work for you. I order directly from the company better selection etc.
MANY HAPPY & BLESSED BIRTHDAYS, JOSEPH-Better late than never….!
Judith… life of a Queen…..
I really like the wernies no show socks on Amazon. They are a best seller.
Which Real Madrid jersey is Joseph rocking? I have a 10-year-old die-hard Vini Jr. fan who would like to discuss/debate. (He has BIG feelings about this! 🤣🤣🤣)
Okay so I don’t know anything about soccer! Joseph asked for an Mbappe jersey (which is what he’s wearing), but he also got soccer trading cards and he was VERY excited when he saw that he got Vini Jr, who he said is their best player 🤷🏻♀️
I’m a Northern Virginia native, so we’re definitely rooting for the Commanders/Redskins! I was 14 the last time they won a Super Bowl (against the Bills in 1992). I’d love to see another Washington-Buffalo SB.
Hi!
I got socks for Christmas that I just love. They feel like a hug on your feet.

Bombas!! Love all there socks and especially the no show. Highly recommend
I was a Girl Scout for 10 years but can’t justify the price of their cookies (they were $.50 when I sold them). Walmart & Aldi both sell knockoffs of Samosas & the peanut butter/chocolate cookies for a little over $2. If you haven’t tried them, do!
Go CHIEFS!!!!
Great no show socks that fit small feet and they wash and wear well.

Hi Michelle, I will be cheering for the Commandskins, I am a native of the Washington DC area so we grew up in Redskins territory!!
Have you tried the Bombas socks, they have a little tab in the back but they don’t bunch up at all. I used to have that same problem but with the Bombas socks, I have been fine with no more bunching.
Have a good weekend!
Will you please share your snacks list when you have it? Always looking for ideas for the kiddos!
Joseph turning 10 means I’ve been reading your site for over a decade! Crazy how time flies!
Love your recipes.
Love reading about your family.
Love your attitude on life!
As a life long Bills fan from WNY, thanks for supporting our Buffalo Bills! ❤️🏈💙
Go Bills
Love your Friday posts. I would add to that hobby list- Zentangle- a form of meditative drawing based on repetitive patterns. As a nurse during Covid it was huge in helping me destress. I love it because even if you think you can not draw you can. Great for adults and kids. if you are ever interested let me know.
I wear Smartwool socks. I love them. I have a shoe size 5 and they have ones that never bunch. My daughter loves the Feetures socks.
A belated Happy Birthday to Joseph!
I love reading your posts!
Stay warm and have a great weekend!
Happy Birthday Joseph! I can’t believe he’s 10 already. I feeling it was just last week he was born.
I like the no show socks from Adidas. I get them at Kohl’s.
Happy birthday, Joseph! I love your positivity and have read your blog for years.
As far as no-show socks, I recommend the smartwool runner socks with the notched back. My favorite sock brand of all time is Darn Tough (lifetime warranty) but have only bought micro crews from them. I got a pair of no-show Smartwool on sale at REI for $12. Incredibly easy on and off, and they dont slip off. Whatever you choose I’d love to hear about it. 2024 was the year I really started investing in good socks and am not looking back!!
Hi! I wear a size 6 shoe and can’t stand long or bunchy socks. I wear girls or boys socks instead of women’s. I forgot the size range, but it goes to size 4, which is essentially size 6 in women’s.
Buying kids socks is absolutely genius, I think I just found my answer. I’ve even had issues with regular women’s crew socks just being ridiculously too long in the foot. Thank you!!!
Bombas socks! For ankle and no-show!!
My favorite no-show socks have been K – BELL brand and I always buy them at Costco. I have worn this brand and style for years. They come in a 10 pack of various colors. They last a long time, are comfortable and don’t slide down in my shoes!
My favorite no show socks are called features . They are the best!
I’m sending Judith lots of kisses.

Absolutely, without a doubt, the softest, most comfortable socks I’ve ever worn.
In winter, you will never have cold feet if you wear alpaca socks. In Colorado, at -20F, I wore two pairs (crew over low-cut) in snow boots or hikers, and was always warm enough.
In summer, the low-cuts/golfs are perfect in tennis shoes, and ‘breathe’ so prevent sweating. They also seem to last longer than my old socks.
Please try them. Hugely worth it!
Woohoo!🙌 Go Bills!!!❤️💙🦬🎉 We’re from just outside of Rochester, NY and have waited many years for this moment to come again!
(And hey, we’re also big Steelers fans in this house! My husband is a life-long fan!🖤💛🏈)
Thank you for this! Needed this on the grey Friday morning!
I like Bombas lightweight no-show socks. They also have a size small that fits 4-7 1/2.
