Friday Things #561

1. The kids were off at the beginning of the week, and it was so nice to enjoy a couple of slow days, including a few board games.
2. And some video games…

3. And couch snuggles 😍

4. Has anyone read the new Mel Robbins book The Let Them Theory? I’m so intrigued by it, but I still haven’t finished Happier Hour, so I must do that first!
5. From the most recent James Clear newsletter: “Spend today interpreting whatever people do in the most generous way. See if you feel better as a result.”
6. Today is National Pancake Day! If you’ve never made my buttermilk pancakes recipe, today is the perfect excuse! We make these every single weekend (my kids almost have the recipe memorized), usually one plain one (for me), and the rest a mix of blueberry and chocolate chip!
7. We’ve all been super invested in watching the Four Nations Face-Off hockey tournament the last two weeks, and the championship game was USA vs Canada last night… so much anticipation! When I finished writing this last night, the game was headed to overtime 😬
8. They used a snippet of the Herb Brooks speech from the movie Miracle during the intro last night, and it will never fail to give me goosebumps. We may need to break out that movie for the kids ahead of the winter Olympics next year!
9. We finished watching the final season of Cobra Kai this week… even though it was cheesy in spots, we’re 80s kids and appreciated the nostalgia of this reboot 😊
10. TGIF! Ahhh my buddy Duke, he still gallops over to me, tail wagging, and I love it so much 💙

We have enjoyed watching Cobra Kai too. Looking forward to finishing the last season the next time we get Netflix!
Hi Michelle:
I haven’t read Mel Robbins’ new book but do listen to her podcast and really love it. Hope to read the book once I’ve finished with my current TBR list.
Stay well!
Michelle
I love the Mel Robbins podcast and just bought “The Let Them Theory”. I think having written reminders, no matter how repetitive it may be, would be helpful if you’re trying to change the way you think and react.
I haven’t read Let Them but her podcasts are terrific! Always very insightful.
It was a fantastic tournament!! The US team played so well, just fought so hard every second of last nights match. OT hockeys a heart maker/breaker and wish we had gotten a win but proud of our team
Have a great week!
I just finished “The Let Them Theory.” I liked it (enough to sign up for her emails)even though it was a bit repetitive. I think the repetitiveness is necessary for many (we are all different). It is definitely worth a read. I have been attempting to put her theory to use, and it has worked. Let us know your opinion.
