1. When did this boy get so tall??! I came downstairs one morning last week and found him stretched out on the couch reading and he just looked like such a BIG KID!
2. Our house is officially on summer break! The kids spent almost the entire day yesterday outside (and I spent most of the day trying to get the house back into some semblance of order because… May 😅 and approximately 1013847578 things have come home in the last week). So, so excited for slower days and a break from early mornings and homework in the afternoons/evenings!
3. Speaking of summer, I’ve seen so many posts recently about giving kids an 80s or 90s summer… I grew up right in the heart of that, having been born in 1980. If you grew up then, too, what are your summer memories? Ours were really so simple… lots of time outside riding bikes or making up games, slip n’ slide, the ice cream truck, occasional ice cream cones, playing wiffle ball in the yard when my dad came home from work, one week of vacation bible school, catching lightning bugs, running through the grass barefoot (and many bee stings because of all the clover!).

6. I made lunch on Sunday for my mother-in-law’s birthday, and I asked her what she’d like to have… she requested chipotle chicken and cilantro-lime rice (so I put together a taco/burrito bar) and German chocolate cake for dessert!

Going to the park, the ice cream truck, playing outside, fireworks. I love the Medik8 Crystal retinaldehyde if you can’t use tretinoin. I think a good peptide serum and vitamin C serum are also important, but I think the brand just depends on your price range/preference. Timeless has a good low price range, Skinceuticals for high price range, and Medik8 somewhere in the middle. LeMieux has beautiful products and I wish I could use their moisturizer on my whole body. Running through sprinklers. Hot summer days in the 1960’s? It was the best. We now live in a neighborhood with a pool, and my granddaughter still loves the sprinkler. Grown up me? When it been so hot? Rain showers. As long as there is no lightning? Taking a walk in the rain. My granddaughter loves it too! Makes me feel fresh and calm. The neighbors think I’m nuts. They don’t know what they are missing.
