Friday Things #585

1. Next week, Dominic and I will head to New York for his quarterly scans, as well as neuroblastoma vaccine #9, and multiple other appointments. Please pray and send good thoughts his way for continued clear scans and remission, as well as limited side effects from the injection, and safe travels.
2. The kids started school this week! I cannot believe how fast summer went, and now they’re off and running in 5th, 3rd, and 2nd grades. They are all content and thriving, which makes us so incredibly happy.
3. Did you see that Tupperware has come out with its first glass food storage containers? I may need to grab a couple when they come out in a couple of weeks!
4. Such a good practice:
“Praise others. It will bring them peace of mind.
Do not expect others to praise you. It will bring you peace of mind.”
5. YESSSS >> I’m Not Ignoring Your Message… I’m Overwhelmed By the Tyranny of Being Reachable.
6. And on that note >> 3 Simple Tips for Organizing Your Digital Life
7. My husband stumbled upon the Facebook page Jeff’s Garden Project, and he regularly posts videos of a groundhog eating food from his garden. It quickly became our family’s favorite daily thing – watching Chunk the Groundhog eat; broccoli is especially funny :)
8. Did you know there are two different varieties of cinnamon? My husband recently researched cinnamon and found that Ceylon cinnamon is considered the “true cinnamon”, but most people use “cassia” cinnamon, which is widely sold as Saigon (Vietnamese) cinnamon, Indonesian cinnamon, and Chinese cassia. He bought a bottle of Ceylon for his oatmeal, and I gave it a try, too… it definitely tastes a little spicier (like nutmeg) and a little more floral. Curious if you have thoughts!
9. We’re still watching The Sinner; neither of us liked season three, but so far, season four seems better.
10. TGIF! Judith says Happy Friday 🩷

Michelle,
Praying for you and Dominic this week.
May God’s Blessings surround you and your family.
This is by far my favorite baking blog. I have been using your recipes for almost 15 years! It started with your Snickerdoodle cookies:) Love every time I come here. Sending you and your family lots of positive energy!
Sending best wishes, thoughts and vibes for Dominic’s hospital visit. Hope all goes well. Safe travels.
Those groundhogs are hilarious! Interesting info re:cinnamon.
I’ve loved all seasons of The Sinner and can’t wait to watch the next one.
Sending good thoughts, positive energy and renewed strength to all. You got this Dominic!
Yes, I knew of the different types of cinnamon in fact, when shopping for it, I often hear Ina Garten’s voice to choose a “good one.”

I will be praying hard for Dominic’s continued good health! Have a safe trip.
Prayers going up for Dominic, definitely!! Always a bit of a heavy journey, I’m sure. And that’s very interesting about the cinnamon – I don’t think I’ve ever tried the other kind and now I really want to. Would be fun to mix and match them in recipes, depending on taste. I like someone else’s suggestion to try the different cinnamon varieties in a small size from Penzey’s Spices. I might have to go check them out!
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 for Dominic and for it to be a great schoolyear!
Sending many positive thoughts & prayers for Dominic’s next N. Y. visit. I pray that very

If you’re curious, Penzeys Spices sells 4 different types of cinnamon, in everything from a small jar to a large refill bag. I’m not a company person, but I have shopped in one of their stores here in my neighborhood.
Prayers for Domimic. Safe travels.
Sending you many positive thoughts and prayers for Dominic next week. I so often think of him and your family. I am sure he will do well.
We just spent two days in Pittsburgh on our way to Chicago to visit our son and his family. While exploring Pittsburgh I thought of you. What a great city. Diane M
Hi Michelle, I will keep Domonic and your family in my prayers, praying for all clear scans, and little side effects. I also ask God to completely heal him so he no longer has to go to any more treatments.
I did not know that about cinnamon so thank you for letting me know. I am going to check out his new cinnamon, maybe I can use it in my fall recipes!!
Have a wonderful holiday weekend.

Prayers for Dominic
Will continue praying for happy results for sweet Dominic. Wishing your family a happy healthy and productive autumn!
Prayers for continued positive outcomes, safety and joy for you and your family Michelle:)
Ceylon cinnamon is the best one. They say that the regular cinnamon isn’t real. Fake.
Would be nice to know where the Tupperware glass containers are made at? Would you happen to know?
Dominic will do just fine. Prayers.
Hi Connie, I just did a quick Google search and it says that the glass containers (as well as most of their plastic stuff) are manufactured at their facility in Mexico.
Thank you for your quick response. Was so hoping they would be made here in the US. Maybe some day they will.
Prayers to you all for a positive outcome and continued remission and safe travels! God Bless you!
As always, I will pray and keep Dominic in my prayers. May God be bless him with continued health and happiness. Safe travel, strength and health to Mommy, Daddy and his siblings as well. I’m sure everyone feels a little stressed with you away from home.
